Just wondering, 'cos here is a photo of the heels of someone who also has quite bad kp on her arms. The heels are really dry and cracked eh?!!
We are going to see if something I have 'whipped up' works for her heels, so you can all witness the results...as they unfold! (fingers crossed it works, but if it doesn't, hey well, at least we gave it a try!!) I will keep posting photos as the study progresses. Cheers! Annuu ![]() |

My mother had KP, and the soles of her feet were terribly cracked...worse than in the picture you posted. (She passed away from cancer when I was 19, so I can't ask her if she felt they were related.)
My heels are a little dry and the skin is thick, but not cracked. I do, however, have a persistent problem with athlete's foot. |

I don't know if it's related or not. My heels looked like the one on the right side of the pic, but they're all better now. That left one just looks painful! Let me know if your "whip" doesn't work... I may have just the thing...
let me know what it consists of if it does work!!! |

There are no hair follicles or oil glands on the soles of your feet. So it wouldn't be KP related. There are alot of foot creams available to help with those problems.

I agree, there are no hair follicles or oil glands on the soles of the feet or palms of the hands, so it cannot be kp by definition.
I was just wondering though, if kp is characterized by disorder of normal keratinization/skin cell sloughing in the hair follicles, then maybe it also shows up in other parts of the body as well, i.e. the heels? For those folks who are interested, here is a photo of the feet the next morning. They are soft and well moisturized, but of course there is no healing yet of the cracks, this will take a little while. In Rachel Hunter's famous words about Pantene..."It won't happen overnight, but it will happen!" Annuu ![]() |

I highly recommend Camille Beckman's Foot Therapy (www.camillebeckmanonline.com). There are two scents. It is water and glycerin based. My entire family (parents, brother, grandparents, etc.) use it on a regular basis. It is by far the best thing I have ever used for dry feet. When I lay off of it for a few weeks, I always end up with cracks again. After just a couple days usage, the cracks are virtually gone. And when I use it on a regular basis, I'm crack free. We've been using this stuff for years, and typically order it in bulk from the website. I even had my mom ship me some of it when I was working in the New Mexico desert...it did wonders for my feet.

My heels used to look the exact same way but I have found a cream that eliminates the problem. I dont think it is related but I do know that most people who have KP also have severly dry skin. I use Flexitol's Heel Balm and I love it!

Wow, the results so far are amazing! Heels are incredibly smooth, and much much better looking. I will post the three-day photo later on today.
Anyone else out there have severely dry, cracked heels, I really do wonder if kp is also associated with this other skin condition? Cheers! Annuu ![]() Last edited by Elsa Zoe; 10-17-2007 at 11:43 PM. |

We are trying out Koru kp Butter. For dry cracked heels, it is richer and longer lasting than the cream or lotion, yet absorbs well and does not leave a greasy after feel.
Feedback for Koru kp Lotion and Koru kp Cream for kp itself is mixed...some people say it works very well, some see a modest improvement, and some people have found no effect. From what I know about kp, this range of effectiveness sounds normal. People with kp have a wide range of condition severity, duration and effectiveness of treatments. It is too much to expect that one treatment type will work for everybody with kp! Thanks for your kind interest, we are working on this together. Thank you for filling me in. I'm using the Arbonne products that AllisonSullivan raves about. So far the products have been working wonderfully. I completely agree that what works for one does not work for another. I've tried so many things to no avail. Its trial and error everytime

Here we go after 4 days. Sorry about the poor lighting, it was not taken in full daylight. Looks like things are continuing to improve though...
