I'd just like to mention that I've been using L'Oreal Sublime sunless tanning lotion everyday for the past week and my KP is A LOT LESS NOTICEABLE! I really don't know what ingredient in the product is helping but it's worth a try. Just try it for a week and please let me know if anyone has similar results. Not to mention it's cheap maybe in-between $8 - $10 for a tube. I still have spots where KP is but the bumps are really flattened and some are gone. The spots are not really red but more of a brown color which is probably from the self tanning ingredient. I'd also like to mention that the first time I used it I exfoliated with one of the rough washcloths - the texture is similar to those shower gloves. The product kind of dries your skin out a little but I only used moisturizer (Cetaphil) when my skin looked flaky (not everyday because then my KP starts to look pimply) and I also use Cetaphil bar cleanser. I don't know if this will continue to work or improve but even if it's just temporary at least I can wear sleeveless tops and I'm not embarrassed. Hope this will work for someone else - please posts your results.

I've used the Loreal, the Jergens and the Dove brand sunless tanners. My kp didn't change whatsoever. Plus I think its too hard to maintain an even tan.
When I use sunblock however, I use the Neutrogena kind in the blue and white bottle and that smoothes my arms out amazingly whenever I use it. Doesn't make the redness go way though. |

WHen I used sunless tanning stuff it just came off when I showered. Even if I didn't exfoliate and just used a wash cloth, the sunless tanner would come off.

I know what you mean about rubbing off in the shower. I really try to do a good job of exfoliating before using the sunless tanner so I don't have white spots from it rubbing off. I think having a slight natural base tan to begin with makes the sunless tanning look better. When I first tried it I took a shower after a couple hours and it all just seemed to wash off. The tube says it takes an hour for the tan to develop so I put it on and rub it in really good. Once it dries I put on another layer - then after an hour I put more on top of the first to applications. So far this has been working nicely for me! At first when I noticed improvement I wasn't 100% sure it was the self tanning - because sometimes my KP just seems to get better for a couple of days on it's own and I never knew why...but I used the self tanning about a month and a half ago and had an improvement with my KP so I kind of just figured it had to be the sunless tanning.

I've tried to use sunless tanners before, and all it gave me was a horribly un-even tan. I even used the mystic tan @ a tanning salon and it still looked pretty bad. I just use the regular tanning bed. My KP isn't better but I have a better tan. Its not everything I wanted but I achieved one of my goals.

I tried a few brands of the sunless tanner and didn't really have good results. I have pink undertones and they all turned me kind of yellow- I think it might be good for an olive toned person. They also clogged my pours. But if you can use the products it seems like an ideal solution.

Smiley26 you're so right!!! I've used St Tropez for a while now and it makes so much difference to my skin! I thought at first it may just be that it covers up the red spots with the tan but it does definitely smooth out my skin. I think you must be right, it must be an ingredient in it that has this effect. I would really recommend it to anyone. Unfortunately you have to use a more expensive self tanner for a more even tan, St Tropez is really good, applying it before bedtime is the best way to do it too, then wash it off in the morning. I've heard Fakebake is pretty good aswell.
