Hello HVA,

Coconut oil can be purchased at a natural food store or at a health food store. If they don't have it, you can ask them to order it. Also, you can order it online. I hope you find it. It is my favorite oil.

Re: Coconut Oil: do you prefer it solid or liquid?

I just recently found out about the use of coconut oil and I just have a couple of questions
1) How much does coconut oil normally cost?
2) How much do you need to apply to your whole body?

Hi

I am not sure where you live but Annuu who started up this thread has developed a product especially for KP containing EVCO

He calls it 'oleum'. If you check out this link you will find info on all the KP treatments he offers. I have used it for the odd KP bumps that appear around my eyebrows and have found it helpful

Koru Pharmaceuticals - ---Koru --- Systems

PS: Annuu is a New Zealand pharmacist who had developed KP products for his own family and now markets them to anywhere

Question Re: Coconut Oil: do you prefer it solid or liquid?

i just started working with coconut oil in the solid form and i have been trying to figure out how i can get it to stay in the liquid form to use as an oil, without having to keep it at the right temperature. if anyone has any ideas or can give me some suggestions i would so greatly appreciate it.

Grapefruit,

Somehow I missed your question. Sorry for the delay in answering.

I'm not sure how much coconut oil costs retail, as we buy it by the 5-gal. bucket from Mountain Rose to get the best price. Why don't you check prices at a natural food store or online?

Put a small dab between your palms, and rub then together to melt the coconut oil. Then apply topically. It goes on best when your skin is still damp from a shower. Use as little as you can.

Riahlyn,

Coconut oil will stay liquid as long as the temperature stays above 74-76 deg. F. If you are only using it as a body moisturizer, it is fine in the solid state. If you want it liquid, put a small amount in a dish and put that in a pan of warm water, or find a warm place in your house, like near a heater vent, or by the water heater.

I hope this helps.

Re: Coconut Oil: do you prefer it solid or liquid?

Can somebody help me with your proper steps of using coconut oil after shower?

Is it okay if I put on my lotion after putting on coconut oil? Will the lotion reduce the effectiveness of coconut oil?

I have been searching this site but kind of lost. There are so many threads and I don't know where to find the information that i need.

J,

After a shower, while your skin is still damp, put several drops of coconut oil on your hands and rub it on your skin. Keep on re-applying until you have moisturized your entire body. Use as little as possible -- it doesn't take much.

Re: Coconut Oil: do you prefer it solid or liquid?

Thanks kebod, it's so good to find out about this site. When I wake up in the morning, I wet my skin (I normally take a shower in the afternoon) and then apply coconut oil. At first the skin is soft and nice (not completly smooth yet but better than before). However, that only lasts until midday and then it becomes rough a gain

I find that with my skin, if i apply coconut oil, leave it for 5 minutes, then put lotion on top, it gives better results. I guess that the coconut oil locks the moist in the skin and the lotion locks the coconut oil? Anyway I apply coconut oil twice a day now, hopefully my skin will get better
