New to the site
Hi everyone, I have been lurking around the site on and off for a while now but just recently decided to register. I'm 19 years and suffer from an extreme case of KP. My entire upper torso, including chest, belly, side, and back are completely covered as well as my arms and legs slightly. It is wierd the location of my KP and makes me wonder if maybe I have an allergy to something...? because I have worse KP on my chest, underarms, sides, belly, etc. then I do on my face or arms!
But anyway, it is VERY nice and refreshing to be able to view a friendly and respectful public forum of those who can empathize/sympathize with how KP can affect how you live your life. I've tried several things to cure it and some have shown fairly decent results like tanning, using AmLactin, Neutrongena products and several other lotions with salisylic acid. I just recently started using the "KP Kit" and it seems to be helping the best so far, but considering the severity of my condition, I doubt I'll cure it myself...hopefully time will cure. Hope to get some advice and make some friends on here!! Thanks |

Well to start getting an idea of what products you may want to try or other approaches you may want to take to alleviating (or simply understanding) your KP, I recommend poking around this forum (although it sounds like you have already done that...). I have been here a while, and can tell you that there is not one "cure-all" for everyone on here, although there are a number of products that many members have seen improvement from (but everyone is different, as I am sure you have noticed from reading different accounts already). Of all the topical products I have tried so far (and I have tried MANY), my favorite has been organic extra-virign coconut oil, as recommended by MorningBell on this forum. I just put it on in the shower while the water is running and it is absorbed easily. For more info, go to the "Finally Smooth Skin" topic in this part of the forum. Sun helps me too, I think, as well as excersize and all that, but, personally, I have yet to find a really, REALLY good solution - though SO many others on here have (which is AWESOME). Best of luck to you! Peace! Namaste, GreenBean |
