I completely agree with you. I think KP comes from a problem (what i don't know) on the inside, not outside. The only thing that has ever completely worked for me was a treatment (Accutane) that altered the chemicals in my body. The sad thing is, I told my dermatologist this when I went off the Accutane and she basically ignored me and gave me another cream that didn't work. She said Accutane was too strong to use just for the KP... because mild acne is somehow much worse and worth the risk?? what??? Her response made no sense to me... Anyone who's suffered from both KP and acne knows that they basically have the same effects.

RAWR. I wanna go back and talk to that lady now and give her a piece of my mind. (This was well over 5 years ago though...)

Regarding the genetic aspect, as far as I know nobody else in my family has it, nor have they ever.

=)

Just went to buy spearmint oil at a whole foods. They had spearmint oil, but said it's not suppose to be taken orally or in any drinks.. I told her about what dori said and she said she's never heard of it..... She said it could be steamed in water or the shower, but not taken by mouth.....

Also, they had a spearmint herb that I could make tea out of.. It was herbs...

So, what spearmint can I use? Is there a site to buy it? Or can I use the spearmint oil that was at the store? They also had peppermint extract that she said I could use in a drink or tea, but will the effects be the same?

By all means, do not use the spearmint oil if it says 'not to be taken internally', or 'for aromatherapy purposes only'.

A couple of months ago I saw that spearmint was offered in a capsule/supplement form - I don't know, however, how the potency compares to an oil. Regarding peppermint, that may work - spearmint is said to be a milder version of peppermint. It depends what component of the spearmint is actually affecting the KP, and whether peppermint has it. All you can do is try.
