Arms get redder when xposed to cold

When im home my arms seem fine...like, they aren't as red ..but are still bumpy. When i get to school...and i take my jacket off..My arms immediately get redder and purple (the dots) where they are extremely noticeable. My school is always cold and whenever i walk into a building or outside, and it's cold ,my arms always do this..and i think it has something to do with the capillaries or blood vessells. UGH!! It's so embarrasing.! Anyone have this problem or care to share anything they've treid for the red dots.

The same thing happens to me. My arms turn red and purple and I can make them change colors by taking my hand and gripping my bicept. Odd, huh?

Mine are the same- even when my kp is relatively unnoticeable. I did a shoot and saw the pictures afterwards and my arms looked great- but the one shot of me standing in the freezing cold water needed to be retouched a bit because they were so discolored from the cold.

thats hilarious

I've just got to say thats hilarious about clinching your arm to change the color of the spots...check this out: when I'm standing up with my arms to my sides the red spots and my arms in general get very red. But, if I raise my arms up over my head the red color goes away and I swear the red bumps do too...i know, blood circulation and all that, but it's a real good laugh

I've said that all along, since i did the post about exercise (probably got deleted along with half the board when we had that upgrade)

Exercise is one of the best ways to improve your blood circulation, and 99% of the people here dont do exercise, im one of the few people that does do it, and im one of the few that is seeing improvements. Go figure?

I think that’s where those capillary creams come in to play. After a lot of research and talking to surgeons, kp is definitely one of those conditions that have more than one factor. If anyone wants to read some info on a capillary cream, check my post titled "check this out". One more thing, I just want to thank Dickie for being one of, if not the most positive person on this board because I truly believe he and I are on the same page. Dickie, you won't be alone taking this thing to the grave, I'll be right there with you man.

Well, I do exercise...actually everyday since september after a lay off of about 4 years. I also got away from the weekend smoking habit. I get the feeling there are so many different things you can do to minimize the condition, but what are peoples actual experiences with treatments? I only hear, "neutrogena really helped!" or "my skin is smoother now", etc. What about explaining reduction of red pores and what percent, or what a specific product does for you and how long you tried it. As much as I would love to pay 40 bucks a month and another 30 a month for a derm, it would be nice to narrow down things based on specific reactions or benefits. Think I should start another thread for this?

One edit to this post: I've been very athletic my whole life but thru college I ate too much, slept too much and drank too much. I ended high school at around 180 and got up to around 220lbs a year ago. .ALONE WITHOUT TREATMENT, YOU WILL SEE IMPROVEMENT BY KEEPING IN SHAPE. Obviously, the less of you the less of kp. When you are unhealthy it definitely makes the condition worse.
