Try This Method

I've heard about this message (I don't remember where)
on line and decided to try it.

I'm very very young, 13 years of age, and male, and have
been struggling with Keratosis Pilaris for a long time. I live in michigan.

I never really thought of looking for a way to treat it, hoping
for it to go away, until I found out that many people actually
have it.

So, I was desperate and was willing to try anything.

This is what I did.

The First thing you want to do is treat the Appearance of it.
This can be done using soaps, and lotions and such.
Whatever you do, do NOT use harsh soaps on your arms!
Use subtle soaps and non fragrant soaps, which can make it worse,
such as Cetaphil (or however you spell it)
That soap is not harsh, non-fragrant, and helps it alot.

The next thing you want to do it treat the Cause of it.
Using soaps and lotions only reduce the way it looks, but it's still there.
By reducing the cause AND the appearnce, Keratosis Pilarsis shouldn't be that much of a problem. Treating the cause can be done by taking special things in your diet.
These things include VITAMIN A, and FLAX SEED OIL.

By taking 8,000 IU's of Vitamin A, and 2 Teaspoons of Flax Seed Oil, your skin will improve! I just started taking these 3 days ago, and so far the results have been pretty good. Now, I do not know if this is going to work, but it's not dangerous and it helps your overall skin anyway, and its healthy so it's a good thing.

You can buy Vitamin A at your nearest drugstore, and Flax Seed Oil somewhere at like GMC or something.

I'll keep posting my results in the future, to tell you if it works.

Just a little word of warning! Vit A is very toxic in high doses, right now I don´t remember the numbers, but I will look when I come home. ( I´m a nutritional therapist. )

seriously?

Well, is said on the bottle to take just one gel pill, which contain 8,000 IUs of Vitamin A, and it also said not to take more that 10,000 IUs, which leaves yiu 2,000 IUs of vitamin A to consume from sources other than the pill. I think thats enough, but i am not sure. Thank you for telling me this, i did not know, and i would like to know the information you have.

Smile

The RDI (recommended daily intake) is: 3.000-10.000 IU

The ODI (optimal daily intake) is: 10.000-25.000 IU

The TDI (therapeutic daily intake) is: 25.000-300.000 IU

Toxicity may occure when you have a daily intake over 30.000 IU/day.

Your intake of 8.000 IU/day is a good, save level to be at. You have to remember that you also get vit A and Betakarotens from your food. If you want to go on a higher dosage I would not recommend that you do that for more than 3 months. It´s also better to eat more Betakarotens instead of a higher dosage of vit A, since they are not toxic. Try to get them from your food, its much better than pills! Betacarotens you can find in vegetables and fruits, preferrably from orange, yellow, red and green ones. I have read that many on this site have had great results with carrotjuice and I have aswell. Good luck!

That's right. However, the beta carotene that your body doesn't manage to use up will be deposited in various locations, like your eyes, palms, soles of your feet etc, making them turn yellowish. It does take some heavy overdosing though so you should be okay.

Lots of help

Thank you guys you've been lots of help.

I think eating more food with vitamin a and betacarotene.

I think a good food would be Sweet Potatoes, Also known as Yams.

These have alot of Vitamin A, and are tasty.

hi, new here. i'm wondering how you take your flax seed oil. i had a friend who would mix it with her soy milk, but i couldn't stand the taste/texture - it made me gag. i've heard of lots of other benefits as well, so i'm interested in figuring out an easy way to take it!

thanks!
