I was reading the latest issue of Seventeen magazine and I saw a section about skin issues, one of which was KP. It says that to help get rid of it, use an alpha-hydroxy-acid cream and an exfoliating scrub twice a week. It gave suggestions like Jergens Skin Smoothing Moisturizer (which I found you can substitute Vaseline Healthy Body Complexion body lotion), and Noxzema Microbead Cleanser.
I haven't tried these methods but I will as soon as I get back home (I'm on vacation, hehe) I've been plagued with KP since I hit puberty (I'm 15 now), and I have bumps under my chin, severe bumps on my forearms and back of the arms, and severe bumps on my inner thighs, outer thighs, and back of thighs. Hopefully some of you will try that method and keep us posted on the results! |

Alert!
Avoid Vaseline and any product with Petro- products or mineral oil on the label! They are derived from crude oil refineries and known carcinogens
(the people who work there have to wear full HazMat suits)! They trap in toxins because the molecules are too large to be absorbed through our pores. Try this: place a saltine cracker in a glass of water, and another saltine in a glass of mineral oil (baby oil). After letting them sit for 3-5 minutes, the water cracker is soggy. Take the oil cracker out and tap it on the table. Still hard, huh? That's because the molecules are too large to be absorbed even by a cracker! So, the mineral oil (or vaseline, etc) sits on the surface of our skin like soap scum. Yuck! Instead, try to use products made with essential (plant) oils. I have some suggestions, if you're interested. Email me at allisonsullivan@insightbb.com to see my before and after pics of my arms. |
