Any British KPers out there?

Aye up

Whilst browsing through the site I found I get excited to see products used by fellow suffers only to find they are from the US and if you have ever ordered anything form the states you know that many products go through strict export/import checks etc. and it becomes mega expensive. So can we swop any ideas of any British products that can be bought or Brit Websites etc. for example has anybody managed to get KP duty from the UK?

Love to here from Ya

Hello!

I'm an American living here in the Cambridge area. I attempted to get KP Duty in the states before I came over here and the one place I knew that carried it (Sephora) was sold out so I never got it.

I was on holiday in Italy last week and saw one or two Sephora stores in Milan, however I did not go in. You may want to check on their website to see if the Italy stores carry it. It would probably be much easier to obtain through the mail within the EU. There is also a website, www.dermadoctor.com where you can order KP Duty, but I'm not sure if they will deliver overseas.

Another suggestion to help with your KP is the pumice stone. You may want to check the thread entitled 'Pumice & Alcohol' on the General Discussion Forum. Most of the original info has been taken away by the orginator of the thread because he felt that people were hurting themselves in the process. Read the thread to understand more.

I use a pumice stone that I bought at Boots. I found it in the bath section and it's flat, about 3/4 of an inch thick (2 cm) and is shaped like a tear drop, on a string. I think it cost around £3.00.

Hope this was all helpful.

Fraid the pumice stone method is far to harsh for my skin as it makes it raw and becomes infected and spotty. I have to use a fine grain body scrub for now and plenty of Eucerin Lotion. In my serarch for the Holy grail I managed to find KP duty on Ebay UK but still have to order it from US however I can use paypal which makes life easier. If you havent got a credit card you are stuffed as regards ordering things from US.

Thanks for the advice anyway.

I'm from Swansea, Wales, UK.

Hi there folks, I'm a Brit and I'm really glad there are some fellow Brits here to chat to. Especially as regards products. I'm having a terrible time at the mo with my KP, partly because I pick (yes I know!). I'm desperate to find remedies and solutions. People on this board seem to have lots of differing and often conflicting views on the best way to treat it which leaves me baffled and bewildered! Thanks for listening.

I am a Brit, and I ordered KP to my expense from dermadoctor and it didn't work at all, literally no results. For the price that is pretty annoying. Something to bear in mind before forking out your cash.

I'm in Swansea too! Also annoyed about my KP, tried lots, but no results as yet. I always find my self looking at people's arms and are fed up with seeing girls with lovely smooth, flawless upper arms. I have read that KP affects 50% of the population, but nobody I know has it anywhere near as bad as I do, in fact most of my friends have no marks at all on their arms. What did they do differently?!

Hi, I'm from London and my KP bothers me a lot too. I have had KP for a really long time but I've only just started treating it. I'm not too sure what products to use. I have seen so many effective products recommended by other KPers, but none of them seem to be available in the UK. Today, I've ordered DERMADoctor KP Duty from the U.S. and I heard that it was very very good too ~ but it doesnt have the same results for everyone. SO, hopefully it would be the right product for me. 2 other products that I heard were very good too were Nutiva Raw Virgin Coconut Oil and Bath & Body Works Eucalyptus Spearmint Lotion. But I can't find these products in the UK or on Ebay/Amazon. My BF suggested me to go to New York next month for holiday, and then I could buy the products while I'm there. Good luck to u guys.

Hi I am also form London and have suffered form K.P for many years. I didn't know what it was ( I just thought I had very sensitive skin ) until I found this site last week. It did used to bother a little, but as I'm a bloke I guess I'm lucky that I'm not expected to wear sleaveless clothes and can get away with wearing shirts and long sleave t-shirts in the summer, nether the less it would be nice to have good skin. Anyway I've read on these pages that the NeoStrata products are very effective, but they don't seem to be available in the U.K except form www.harleycosmetic.com which sell the NeoStrata Oily Skin Solution for £28.95 + £2.95 p&p which is a bit of a rip off as it's sold for around £12 in the U.S but unfortunatly no websites I found in the U.S ship this peticular product to the U.K (don't know why ? maybe it hasn't been approved yet in the U.K ) . I wouldn't recommend buying and medical goods from ebay as the are many dodgy sellers and you don't know if your getting a genuine product, and its not worth taking the risk of making your skin worse. Luckly after much searching I found this site www.leguidesante.co.uk ( athough the address is .co.uk the company is actually in france ) and they have NeoStrata Oily Skin Solution for £15.13 ( it called neostrata lotion 8 AHA on their website but from the pics of the bottle it looks like it's the oily skin solution ) . I ordered the neostrata lotion plus 15AHA 200 ml for £22.35 + £6.50 p&p , so total inc V.A.T & delivery was £28.85 ( no import taxes as it's form EU country ) which I think is reasonable ( not quite as cheap as the U.S though ). The oily skin solution and the lotion plus are both supposed to be good products, but I'd though I'd try the lotion plus. I ordered last Friday evening and they shipped it yesterday (Monday) so it should arrive soon . I will see how well it works and repost on this forum. Hope this helps and good luck with your K.P !
P.S if your thinking of using a pumice stone be extremely careful as it took off loads of layers of skin and just made things worse, and it will probabally take a few weeks to heal the damage I did to my skin.

Thanks for the info about the neostrata, I am thinking of buying it but am hesitant about spending that amount of money on another cream which probably won't work. I bought KP duty from dermadoctor, and that cost around £45 in total for shipping etc, and as it made no difference I was a little annoyed. But I guess anything is worth a try no matter what the cost as it bothers me a fair bit. i will wait to see your reaction with the neostrata before ordering some though.

Keep smooth!

Wow, it sounds like the US companies really rip you off when you purchase from the UK! I am located in New Zealand, so I can empathise...

In case you haven't heard, and sorry to harp on if you have, but I developed a cream for my wife's own kp, and asked if anyone would like to try it. All of the correspondence is located on "Who would like to try this" The feedback was very good, so I have now made up a larger quantity of the original cream (less the rose essential oil, and with a little olive oil as well), and have made it available from our small home-based business via a website.

The price for a 100g jar (of cream, lotion or butter) is a flat US$ 20 + US$ 6 for postage and packaging, no matter where you live. This is £14.23p all inclusive, not bad eh?! For the 'Continental Europeans' (!) this is Euros 20.79. We are set up with PayPal to keep the transaction secure and simple.

Cheers !

Annuu

Hi Jen - just in case you miss it on the other thread...
http://www.bamberwatson.co.uk/ for Coconoil. I'm so tempted to eat it, but on Montignac's diet it's a no-no .. booooo ! I'll just have to lick my arms instead.

Warning!

I recently through a relative ordered something (health product not relevant to this site) from the US and when it arrived we were charged an extra £27 before the postman would give us the product. REASON? the posty told us the govenrment do not want us to keep buying stuff from abroad so the charge us for the privilege. It goes on weight of the package. Also UPS will also charge you COD if you order stuff from US if you want it sooner with guaranteed insurance. So watch out for these hidden charges.

Right!!! on a KP note, there is one thing we all have in common that is DRY SKIN and it seems that products that hydrate the skin seem to have some kind of beneficial impact than the rough scouring effect that some people recommend. I have been using Eurcerin Lotion for 3 weeks now and I have seen a really good effect in as much as my skin is smoother as it breaks down the scaly nodules that causes the bumps. With GENTLE exfoliation there is a marked improvement. We must have patience!!! if the bottom layer takes on average 6 to 8 weeks to get to the top it is going to take that long to really see a difference, even if a slight one!!.Bare in mind you have had this condition for years it isnt going to go in just a matter of days/weeks. Dont give up!! Also why is it that some people say their skin is better in summer than winter? Thats because we drink more water, another thing which is good for dry skin. You know at the end of the day its going to be something as simple as pure water that will be the cure for KP, have you ever thought of that?

Take care everyone

Subaya
