I had a look in Boots today for the Benefit stuff with catchy names! Couldn't find them, but didn't think of looking in Debenhams, will do that though tomorrow. There was loads of products in boots though for problematic skin and I was slightly overwhelmed and wanted to try them all because of course reading the label you think, "This is it, this is the cure!"m Trying not to spend all my wages on this though!

Hi this was in this week's Sunday Times Style section - it's on order!

Tried KP duty and that was rubbish - it did not do a thing and very overpriced! So hoping this works better.

Here's the link http://women.timesonline.co.uk/artic...268853,00.html

In case the link doesn't work - basically get neem soap and surgisalve moisturiser from here www.marblehillnaturally.com and start eating more fish oils!

hope that helps

Hi, I'm from Yorkshire having the same problems- I am trying products with sylactic acid in them at the mo as I heard this is an ingrediant in many of the american products. Does anyone else have problem with kP on there face? Its the worst and seems to be affected by diet - does anyone else have this problem?

Home Dermabrasion

A friend has just given me an Avon brochure whilst browsing I came across a page dedicated to "taking action with the at home alternative to surgery".

The have two products that may be of interest to some people.

Micro - Exfoliant all ages treament. £12 it quotes..... "This is an at home microabrasion. this unique micro-crystal infused formula polishes skin to allow younger, softer skin to move to the surface. Leaves skin soft and younger looking. removes older looking skin. Use 2-3 times a week."
It comes in a 75ml tube. also.....

2 step Facial Peel all ages treament.£15

"Use one pad to apply the gentle peel phase and one to neutralise, each tub contains 30 pads"

They also stress that the two should not be used in conjuction with each other they are to be used at different times.

Why I have mentioned this is I saw a thread where someone was considering going to a salon to pay a whole heap of money but I suppose if you follow the instructions by the book you can get the same effect doing it at home. You have the right to contact Avon and ask the ingrediants etc. for those with allergies. I have noticed they are pro AHA's rather than salicyic acid.

Subaya

Krusty Pimples

PS. the benefit counter in the Boots here in Nottm is inbetween all the posh cosmetics like No.7, Clarins and Millie n Ruby etc. its not in the main aisles.

the marble hill stuff is having some effect - I wonder if jojoba oil is similar to coconut oil tho. Its a smallish pot and expensive for the money and coconut oil is so much cheaper - will have a hunt for it tomorow

Hello Everyone again

Many discussions Ive seen seems to dwell on 1. dermabrasion (in otherwords scouring the skin to release the hairs that lies beneath the pods of skin) and 2. moisturising the skin to stop it from crusting over again. Well have you thought of using stuff they design for the feet it is one of the places that suffers from thickness of skin and as you know if you dont moisturise it they get pretty dry and cracked so.... There are creams out there that do both!!! so its for the feet, who cares!!!. some have salicic acid to help scour the skin and softners to moisturise. If you dont like the asprin approach many companies are using AHA's instead alongside aloe Vera. Try:-

Yep - I regularly use Scholl's rough skin for feet remover with AHAs on my arms prior to showering, and then rubbing in EVCO. In fact they were doing 3 for the price of 2 recently, so I have 9 tubes of the stuff to get through

Smile new kper

hello everyone!

i am from london, had kp since i was a little girl and have only just discovered what it is!

apparently when i was little my mum took me to the docs about my spotty arms and he said they were milk spots!?!? and i would grow out of it - well nearly 25 years later i have found a proper diagnosis here.

my spots do seem to be spreading - the last couple of years they have travelled down to my lower arms and now i can see some on my back

i want to get some cream to try to make it better - preferably a non bankrupting one from boots

does anyone have any suggestions? shall i use e45, hc45, euracin, oilatum?!?!?!?!

Hello Happy

Or maybe you not so happy lately with the KP and all.

Well you best bet is to read a few of the threads and see what every body else are recommending. coconut oil seems to be very popular and its not expensive. the feet creams I suggested are not to dear either. If you suffer from dry skin like most of us dont forget to treat it from the inside too by taking omega 3,6and 9 oils at least 3,000gm a day and drink loads of water that helps to keep your skin hydrated in general. Then from the outside you have to do the regime of exfoiliate and moisturise and the richer the moisturiser the better. If you can afford natural stuff even better usually sold in health shops, like neem cream, good quality aloe vera lotion , Evening Prim oil, Dead sea lotion, etc. Urea (synthetic stuff) given to Excema sufferers which is in most creams tends to soften the bumps. In its richest form you will find it in Eucerin cream which you can get on prescription by the way or its £12.50 in Boots otherwise. Even richer is a foot balm called flexitol it has 25% urea and by gum does it soften you heels lovely so guess what it does to the skin!! only £3.99 or so from Superdrug. There are members of this site who make creams so look out for them on these threads too.

Its a case of trial and error some things work for some people some dont everybody is different but one things for sure its nice to know your not alone. Hope the above helps a bit.

Take care

V

Talking

thanks for the advice

i have some e45 at home so i might give that a try in the 1st instance along with the exfoliating.
i think i will get some omega oil capsules too.
it is actually a relief to know what the kp is. i always just thought i had weird arms.

but now i can do something about it properly!!!!

I'm in London. I ordered the KP Duty from dermadoctor a while back and it was absolute rubbish. I got BBW spearmint stuff from a very nice seller on ebay who also sent me some complimentary sweets (yay!) and it was ok - no miracle cure. At the moment I'm using Eucerin 10% from Boots which is great for smoothing skin but as usual - does nothing for dots. I would give my right arm for a product that works on dots!

Its seems a general consensus that this KP duty is Rubbish and we are getting ripped off. Sooooo we have to find our own cure. If you still have the dots it may mean you still have the curled up hairs underneath the skin, so its a case of getting the little critters out. Well thats down to either gentle exfoliation or dermabrasion. Look at the other threads and this one to see what others are using. There are scrubs now with AHA's fruit acids that help slough the skin. Look in Boots, superdrug, Benefit and Origins counters, Body shop, Avon your local beauty salon etc. Read my message to happyhb. Be patient it does take time to see results depending on your skin structure but keep on it.

Hi, I've been suffering from KP for years, im f 27. Don't know how well it will work but I've just ordered AHA Lotion fron Gatineau. its about £25 (but cheaper on ebay) I read an article in She magazine recently that suggested it to treat KP. I also have mild KP on my cheeks, not found a way to treat it yet.

I've read that products containing AHA's can help. personally I've found that harsh exfoliating on my arms only aggrevates the condition.
