Well, after reading this thread I decided to purchase the Neostrata Oily Skin Solution (8 AHA) at skinstore.com last night. I hope it works!! I haven't been back to this forum for quite awhile because I've almost given up all hope of controlling my KP. I'd like to at least get rid of the unsightly bumps on my thighs so that I can wear shorts seeing as it's the middle of July here..blah.

Has anyone tried using a pumice sponge (not stone) in the shower and then applying the Neostrata solution afterward? Or do you just simply use the solution? I was wondering whether or not I should be wasting my time buffing away my KP...or if the buffing would help the solution work any better...

Any thoughts anyone has is much welcomed! Thanks!

I am about to order the NeoStrata Lotion Plus - AHA 15 and i tried using the "sale20" coupon, to find out it is expired. Did a search on google, and i found another coupon called "smile10" that gives you 10% off. Just FYI to anyone who is ordering from skinstore.com.

Hey guys
Im from Canada and Im going to the states soon (shopping lol) I was wondering where I could go to find the neostrata products? Like a particular drug store? Also, if I should get the Neostrata Oily Skin Solution AHA 8 or the Neostrata Lotion 15% glycolic acid. I really dont know which one is better... Also, should I do anything before applying the product, like exfoliate? Or anything else? And should i put something on After too, like a moisturizer? Sorry Im kind of new and I never really tried any products for my KP yet. Any adive would be helpful.. thanks!

I'm a little confused...what is the difference between NeoStrata Lotion Plus - AHA 15 and Neostrata Oily Skin Solution (8 AHA)?

Kettlekorn, the Oily Skin Solution is not a lotion, it is more like a toner that you apply with a cotten ball or something similar, other than that I do not know the difference. Maybe someone on here knows more than I do about the difference

I didn't get the Oily Skin Solution -- I got the Lotion AHA 15, and I haven't seen much of a difference after about a week of applying it twice a day. It looks better when it's actually applied, but I think that's because it has this white filmy substance that covers up the red somewhat. But once you wash it off, or apply another hydrating lotion on top of it, that temporary effect goes away. :-(

I have been using the oily skin solution in the eve and the skin smoothing lotion in the morning. I have to say that while the results are not miraculous they are there. I notice the most difference overnight after using the solution so I am going to try using that in the am also. I am guessing there is something specific about the toner since the doctor in the self article specifically recommended that. I am also keeping in mind that he quotes results after a month("in a month you will be wearing a tank top).

another reason your arms look better in the morning is because your pores have opened, sometimes minimizing the bumps and redness. wish this was all day long :P

i started using the 8 AHA oily skin solution. It helped a bit but not a LOT. then i started using the gel. This morning was the 2nd day and i felt my arm smoother than ever...i think iw ill keep using this for a month and see how it goes..maybe it will keep shedding the top layers that I dont get those anymore :-)

xcvb,

this is in response to your question about if the NeoStrata products make you sensitive to the sun. The answer is YES, i found this out the hard way today, i used the solution and was out in the sun for a few hours and i am extremly sunburnt. I usually do not burn no longer how long I am out in the sun but today I burned very quickly.
Hope this helps, I do not know if wearing sunscreen would help or not but I wish I would have thought about it sooner

I feel your pain. Same with salicylic acid. I spent 6 1/2 hours in the sun. The pain and aftermath was excrutiating. Swelling like you wouldn't believe. Like I was going to explode. The slightest touch was a KILLER. Anyway, BE CAREFUL LADIES AND GENTS. After a FULL WEEK + of hell, I'm recovering....
