Kristina - I've had KP for over 20 years, and I can tell you that I actually *look forward* to summer because the suntans actually seem to abate my condition. I guess you'll have to experiment with what it does for you, and you could always do tanning booths to get an idea if UV rays help or hurt your condition.

hey! i can totally relate to the whole new experience thing, i'm going off to a new camp this summer and i want to be able to wear short-sleeved shirts just like everybody else. a regimen that has really helped me is using neutrogena transparent facial cleansing bar on my arms daily. then, right after i get out of the shower, i put on some aloe vera gel. you can apply aloe vera gel anytime you need/want to, using it + the neutrogena soap has done wonders for my skin. i've only just started the regimen (3 days) but my skin has never looked better. the bumps aren't gone yet but they're diminishing and the redness is gone.

u can look at it this way:

hot climate might mean your skin is better off. i guess humidity helps and the sun tans (be careful tho) can help (but i have noticed a strange effect, my skin will almost break-out while in the sun but after i peel it really smooths my skin).

new place, new people, new friends - i guarentee that there are other KPers where u are going...we are everywhere! so dont feel like u are the only one.

its not distusting no matter what...its completely normal. here is a cool quote i read recently:
