thanks ms1980.. i looked into it..and most of the products are pretty expensive. o.o
and i looked at what some of the kojic acid treats..and it shows pictures with really brown spots that are larger than mine.
i have olive colored/tannish skin...and i am asian. i don't know whether these dots i have are just kp scars? I don't know how to explain it. they're just like... someone put brown dots on my arm with a finepoint needle. maybe there are hair follicles under the brown dots that i am staring at..i am not sure and i do not know. T_T

hi hatekp..I know, you're right. These skin products are waay too expensive. (I don't even want to think of how much I've spend in the last 6-7 years on KP products!) Hmm..brown dots. Can't you just pass them off as freckles? hehe
Are they smooth and blend in with the skin or do they rise from the skin? (like my bumps do...) If it's smooth, I'd definitely recommend Sally Hansen's Airbrush Legs. It's easy to apply and won't stain your clothes. (just have to wait about one minute after applying to dress.) It should definitely cover up your dots and is waay cheaper than the skin bleaches..

I'm Asian too by the way~! But I have ivory skin. So you can imagine just how much the redness and bumps stand out on my arms..

I'm not asian (american indian descent), but I have olive/tan skin too. I have the same problem with the lil' brown dots. I think they're scars (I'm a terrible picker). I hate tanning, too, because I have skin cancer in my family and I'm afraid! I've been using a self-tanner with SPF that is activated in the sun. So it protects you from UVA/UVB rays and tans you at the same time! The best part is there's no streaks or orangey color. It hasn't completely rid me of the dots, but they're definitely less noticeable. Maybe you could try that.

ms1980-I always thought Asian women in general had the best skin! I'm some kind of hybrid, but I've been told I look Asian (esp when my naturally curly hair is straightened), sometimes Japanese, sometimes Korean. I've read that KP runs in Celtic backgrounds, but there seem to be lots of different ethnic groups represented on this forum. Interesting.

Hi pugrrl! I've never heard that KP runs in Celtic backgrounds, or any particular race or ethnicity for that matter..That is pretty interesting.
(but then WHY do I have it..GRrrr ) hehe

I am pretty fortunate that I have no acne whatsoever on my face. ( I think I get a pimple on my face once every few years..) But that is where my skin luck runs out. I have KP on my arms and thighs and my legs are scarred from having atopic psorasis ever since I was young.
I haven't worn shorts or a skirt w/o stockings in about 13-14 years. I don't go to the beach to tan..I go to my local park where there are less witnesses. haha

Hmm..if you can't find it anywhere in the UK, I would say the best bet is ebay.
Just look for a seller with outstanding feedbacks (98% or higher..)
I shop often on ebay (for example the UK clothing brand BENCH which I loove that is impossible to get in the U.S.) and I've never had a problem.

Good luck!

I've contemplated on this for a while, and I made up my mind that I am going to ignore the dots, since I would like to keep my true skin color. Since nobody has said anything about them, I suppose it's not that bad. Maybe I've been overexaggerating since I'm so self-conscious. I'm going to continue with the BBW lotion since I love how it makes my skin so smooth.

Yes..I know. T_T I envy other Koreans because I don't see them having any skin "impurities". Well, since they (majority of koreans) have so much money, they can do anything to be perfect, like plastic surgery and such operations/treatments. But me, I'm like, middle class.

Allison, what is the sun activated self tanner you use called? That sounds like a great product! I've used the Jergans (made me smell like fried chicken, I'm not kidding) and Dove (smells better, but still a little "off"). Also, sometimes I'll have a reaction to the self-tanner, and have a KP episode, which I'll more than likely pick at. I've been off self tanners for a while b/c my arms and legs are clearing up and healing, so I don't want to have a set back. I have similar coloring to you as well.

I've tried a few of the gradual self tanners myself. Yeah... it really is a nice try. The neutrogena smells really bad and the Dove turned me yellow (I have pink undertones, so it might not be bad for someone who is more olive...) and made my chest and back break out and my kp worse. None of them faded evenly.
Right now I'm experimenting with an alpha hydroxy lotion for the redness/dots and I think it may be working, but at the moment I have such bad heat rash that I can't put anything (not ever the BBW lotion) on my skin. Talk about a few steps backwards... When I get back in the grove I'll let you know about the results of the dots solution.

Make me a believer

I was doing Neutrogena Acne Body Scrub and some cream, but since I read this thread, I returned the cream and went my local BBW and picked up a bottle of the BBW lotion for $15 bucks. Not too bad of a price, if it works.

Question - Should i exfoliate before puting the lotion on or does it matter?

It shouldn't matter..I don't exfoliate. (makes the redness worse)

Good luck w/ the BBW lotion and keep us posted!

I know this is off-topic from BBW lotion.....but i'm gonna say it here.
I got a really big wound on my left arm a couple of days ago because I fell on the ground. A thin layer of skin is s****ed..and now, I noticed that the KP (or brown dots) was also "s****ed off". So...the wound area, the area where I had a bit of KP, is just clear now. I just wanted to say this just because I thought it was pretty interesting. And please, I don't want other people to go falling on purpose and s****ing themselves. Be safe!
