Question New here... anyone use Ammonium Lactate 12%?

I just found out I have KP. i have had the bumps on my arms for years and I am so glad to know what it is. My doc perscribed Ammonium Lactate 12% lotion. Does it work? I really want it to work. I haven't worn anything short sleeved in years .

Do you have any other sugestions that might help? I bought some exfoliating mittens to use in the shower. Should I use other lotion along with the Ammonium Lactate?

Thank you!

Amanda

That always seems to be a dermatologist's first try, but really, it didn't help me at all. I actually thought my bumps got more pronounced. I would browse through the forum and see what others suggest and just try a bunch of stuff till you get some success. Of course, if the AmLactin works for you, more power to ya.

Been using it for more than 6 months, & it hasn't done anything. That's how I ended up finding this site, trying to find other options. My derm. wasn't very positive as it was - just said it would soften the skin which might reduce the kp, but no cure. So here I am trying to find what works. I just bought my first pumice stone & some curel lotion that a lot of people on this site mention & I'm hoping for the best. Oh, & I've also just stopped the ammon. lac. lotion.

I've also tried the ammonium lactate lotion and the cream. It does not work. Sorry to be blunt.
