Lightbulb Asking Oprah for help...

Hi there this might seem like a long shot but i am willing to try anything so that there is new research and perhaps they can find a cure. When dermatoligists know that you have to much keratin that causes your KP is it so hard to find something that stops the keratin from creaing/building. (sorry my english is not the best but I hope you know what i mean.)
So today I wrote to Oprah Winfrey about KP and asked if she could contact researchers or medical companies or if she could maybe talk about this problem on her show just to get it out in the open. If someone else would write and asked the same maybe it could work, I know it is a long shot but there is nothing to loose. Maybe it is money that is the question and when big nedical companies realises that there is also money to make by getting a cure or treatment maybe then we have a shot.
So long!!!!!

That's a pretty interesting way to create attention towards KP. I can imagine Oprah's show being a montage to depressing skin disorders that affect women especially. I never thought to take the talk show route. How did you contact Oprah? Well, good luck, I hope she or her producers respond.

That's a great idea! The more people know about this, the more attention. I just know more research to be done.

UGH. I should not be saying this, but I tried this in february. And I'm a DUDE. haha. I am sort of ****ed about it though, because they didn't even reply back. oprah doesnt even get the emails, just one of her millions of workers.

I wouldn't mind going on the show though and getting like, a KP makeover!! haha, free treatment! but sure would be humiliating!

I hope you stressed how TONS of people have this and how SEVERELY it can affect quality of life. The one condition probably won't make up the whole show, but like Cocorita said, it would be a GREAT idea to get KP out there along with other dabilitating skin disorders like rosacea, psoriasis, seb dermatitis, etc. And they shouldn't present it in a lighthearted "makeover magic" way, but in a serious way... like showing pics of the people with the condition and showing them walking on the beach with long sleeve shirts. They could show people with rosacea walking around on a moderately hot day with a beet-red face. Really dramatize it, because for the people with the disease/condition it IS dramatic. Show how although it doesn't threaten life, it can SUCK THE LIFE out of you on a daily basis and how medical researchers are doing nothing about it.

They should get some men on the show, too, to show that it affects quality of life for both sexes. Hell, I'll be on the show if it opens up people's eyes. I don't care about looking gay, because this is a real issue and it needs attention.

That´s to bad but maybe if many people tried to write her or other talkshows or maybe we could try and connect the medicalcompanies that makes this creams. Maybe you can write Oprah again and many more people. Or if we could try and find a way to make people donate money to research for this and other scincondtions.
