I order to help those who are on limited budgets I thought it might be a good idea to try collating failed methods.
Everyone is different but it may help a few people to see what others have tried. Please list here on this one thread what has NOT worked for you, to minimise the need for questions on this thread please provide as many details as possible explaining the regiment you followed. |

Well...Neutrogena Smoothing Lotion didn't work for me... but everyone's skin is different, what has worked for someone might not work for someone else, and vice versa.

Obagi Peels and the rest of their line that was prescribed to me was a waste of time (i have the KP on my calf and thigh).

Differin Gel didn't work for me I tried it for over a year on my thighs. Too persistant for my own good !!
Found out today on a randomn search (I am trying to cast the net wide) apparantly if you are using Differin waxing hair is advised against, not sure why but I was never told this! Last edited by KP on thighs; 05-25-2006 at 03:11 AM. |

Nothing works!!!! KP is evil, and totally hurts my what would otherwise be a healthy self esteem!!
Anyways, KP Duty and Salex do not work. |

I had zero luck with KP Duty, Retin A, Urea cream, or glycolic peels.

Neutrogena Smoothing Lotion gave me a very bad skin reaction! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with a sensitivity to AHA or Salicylic acid.
Urea cream is sticky and stinks. It moisturizes well but the KP is still there. 100% pure unrefined Shea Butter did nothing for my KP and I even tried 2 different brands over a period of time. It's great for treating dry rashes but it didn't remove KP bumps or redness. |

Me and my sister have KP. When Vaseline came out with the lotion for this we both used it and it did little for me and hers went away completely! My KP is obviously much worse than hers is. Now everytime I see her I stare at her arms. I can't believe she has smooth arms now. I feel I have tried everything!!

Products with acid are bad for my face such as Alphahydroxy acids. Things that are made for acne are awful. Most sunscreens make my face worse, so I have tested a lot of those to find ones that don't make the bumps worse. Products with heavy scents seem to cause a burning sensation on my cheeks. (I only have kp on my face.)
I'll keep thinking. |
