Lightbulb Finally! Smooth skin!

I'm not saying it's a cure but I have found that raw extra virgin coconut oil by Nutiva works, I have smooth skin and it has only been 2 days! At first I applied it after my shower and my skin only absorbed a small amount while my shirt was stained. My co-worker said I should put it on at the end of my shower with the water still running so it will open my pores and absorb more. Just "grease up" and run that part of the body under the running water while rubbing. Of course continue to exfoliate, and then mousturize in the shower.

* A word of caution * The floor of the shower will become slippery, my suggestion is get a bathmat, sit down or if you have an outside shower use that.

Awesome! And all-natural and organic, too... Double awesome! And fairly inexpensive... At the risk of looking like a dork: Triple awesome!

Do you think raw extra-virgin coconut oil by another company would work just as well? I will have a look at what the food co-op I visit has the next time I am over there. Thanks for the heads-up!

Peace!

Namaste,
Green Bean

Does it just smooth the skin or does it also diminish the red dotty appearance?

Talking Smooth, less bumpy

My skin is now smooth and not bumpy like before, there is a huge patch of smoothness where the bumpiness was before and small smoother bumps here and there. It rid my arms and back a whole 90% with no scarring! My husband has seen a difference, especially my back. Because of its severity I thought I had "bacne" but it was just kp!

As far as the brand of coconut oil, I would use cooking grade and it must be extra virgin, preferably organic and solid below 76 degrees. Coco butter is no substitute because you need the lauric acid that the oil contains.

make sure you put it on while you're still in the shower and the water is running. Slather it on then run it under the water while you're rubbing (not briskly) it in. I have put it on after my shower and it doesn't absorb too well and I end up being greasy.

After the shower I just blot dry.

Good Luck GB! I'm sure you'll be pleasantly suprized.

I have just started using Ultrabland from Lush and after four days I feel like I have a new face! For the first time in 5 years my cheeks are not flaky and dry. I used this product morning and night and followed it up with an extremely gentle moisturizer. I also exfoliate every 2 days. This product lasts for months because you only need a little bit. Highly recommended!

Anyone ??

Thanks,

I have been using Grandpa's Love-My-Loofah (with chlorophyll & green tea) bar soap which I recieved as a sample last september at the natural products east expo. I lather with that and I lightly exfoliate with my pumice stone while I still have the lather on, the pumice slides easier.

After I rinse the soap I slather on the Nutiva Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and let it sit for a minute then rub it in (gently not briskly) under the running water. You'll still have a sheen but not a coating. Make moisturizing the last thing you do in the shower. Blot or wrap yourself in the towel, no rubbing.

Has anybody else tried this yet? Please tell me what your outcome is. I have been doing this for a week now and I have smooth skin. It's amazing! I keep telling people to touch my arms.

Exclamation Parabens = BAD

mjmcdnld,

The ultrabland contains methylparaben and propylparaben which have been found in breast cancer cells (any paraben actually). Parabens are preservitaves that extend the life of a product. check out the following articles:

http://www.thinkbeforeyoupink.org/P...cCompanies.html

http://www.organicconsumers.org/bod...ancer090604.cfm

http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn4555

Not trying to dog your product nor do I feel I am holier than thou but I am on a mission to make people aware of what they are putting on/in their bodies. Some are shocked and some don't care, some even say they'll change and never do. I know this is a frustrating skin condition but at what cost do we deal with it?

Does the coconut oil do anything for the red? or does it just smooth the skin and leave the red?
