I dod not do the mint julep mask everytime, but you probably could.
I do not think that refrigerating it will hurt it at all. Some other EVCO says to refrigerate after opening to preserve it. I was not worried about it b/c I am only using it on my body, not consuming it, and I think mine will be gone before it could go bad. I was actually thinking of getting the monster jug from their website and transferring it into my container and another container for my son, and storing the rest in the refrigerator. I think my husband may be hooked too. |

http://www.bamberwatson.co.uk/ I should say that this morning, after having the shower block up, I have assumed it's the coconoil... oops ! So this morning I just showered normally and then usedl about a tenth as much and rubbed it in like a moisturiser and left it on. It was absolutely fine. I thought it might stay slimey, but it didn't, it soaked in and stayed silky. So I'm not going to put it on in the shower anymore. If nothing else it'll stop us sliding around like ducks on ice. |

I've been reading this post for awhile and bought the suggested Coconut Oil. I've seen a definite improvement over the last two weeks! I have mild KP all my life....redness and keratin-filled bumps only on my arms.
I exfoliate in the shower, first by soaping my arms with lever 2000, and in gentle circles, I rub a pumice stone over each arm. When I'm out of the shower, I apply the oil on my arms and no other lotion. I shower before I go to bed and because I apply a thin layer, I noticed that my arms aren't super oily when I put on my jammies and go to sleep! I've applied a thin layer in the morning as well and I'm thinking of putting it in a lotion bottle to take to work. Just wish the smell wasn't so strong! For a jar that costs $4...it's worth a try! I've used Glytone products (ugh, they burned my skin...so bad!!) and AmLactin, and didn't have results anything close to this. I look forward to reading more results! |

mine does not smell strong at all except when I first put it on it is a little, but nothing compared to a scented lotion or something. Then the smell goes away. It also cost 14 dollars, not $4. Where did you find it for $4? What brand and what size? I would love to find it for cheaper. Thanks!

hi everyone. I'm new to the board. After reading this post I went out and bought the EVCO (nutiva brand) last night. I first took a exfoliating mit and gently scrubbed my arms with this salicylic acid face wash (it was expensive and I can't use it on my face anyway because it dried it out). Then I applied the EVCO on my arms while still in the shower and then I blotted the water off with a towel afterwards. I did this again in the morning and my arms look different. The KP bumps which were big and round are now tiny and rougher. Well rougher isn't the best word- it's more like whatever substance was inside the bumps are now reduced so the bumps are not as squishy. It's hard to explain. All in all I like the results so far. I will update in a few more days.

I think i may not be using the extra virgin coconut oil. At first I thought it was okay because it said unrefined, but now I am not sure. What do ya'll think? Plus Someone mentioned using it to shave their legs and Iw as wondering how they did that? Do you slather the oil on and then shave? Take care and blessings!

coconut oil
I found this site two days ago (what a Wonderful find!) and i red morningbell's post about the coconut oil. I quickly hurried out to get some (eager to try anything, and this sounded like a miracle!). I tried it out first thing the next day when i took my shower... today is day two and my bumps are quickly disappearing. The redness is still there.. but i'm hoping they'll be gone by Saturday when i have a wedding to go to. I found this site in great timing!
Glad to hear it's not acne... i thought for so long that's what i had. It showed up after having my babies. And i am nursing so i dunno if that makes a difference either. I'll try to keep yall posted of my progress... and i'll be reading for any other tricks! THanks everyone! |

LilBit......mine also showed up, in full force, after having my daughter and nursing. After reading a little more about it on different websites and looking back through my life, I have actually had it since I was little. However, it was in very small amounts and not on a continuous basis. This made me think that I had periodic body acne. I read that kp is common among women, especially in their teens and after pregnancy and childbirth. It is highly seen in people who are prone to allergies, asthma, hayfever, etc. This may not be you, but I thought I would share what I have learned over the past few weeks since finally figuring out what it is that I am dealing with. Hopefully it helps someone else out as well.
I have been using the Coconut Oil for 6 days now and my arms are looking better than ever. The redness is gone and the bumps are slowly disappearing. Plus, I am using it on my entire body and my husband LOVES it. It is all thanks to the wonderful people on this site who are so willing to share their stories and suggestions. Flushedface......you said that you are using it on your son? How old is he? My daughter is 2 1/2 and is already showing signs of what could be KP. The doctor says that it is just ezcema and to put hyrocortisone cream on.....which is so far....doing absolutely nothing. Which is what is leading me to believe that it could be KP. I can't imagine that it could be bad (maybe just messy) to put an this natural EVCO on her, but just don't know. Any advice? Thanks so much. |
