Yeah, since my entire family was born in Europe, we visit there a lot, (well, not all of us at once unfortunately), so we always bring back things.

Not trying to dog your product nor do I feel I am holier than thou but I am on a mission to make people aware of what they are putting on/in their bodies. Some are shocked and some don't care, some even say they'll change and never do. I know this is a frustrating skin condition but at what cost do we deal with it?

My mom uses products that have 3 or 4 different types of parabens!!! Ahh! And she's 52, and constantly talks about how she keeps missing her mammogram appointments! OMG!

Wait a minute! All of the baby products I use on my kids have parabens listed. Are there other baby products out there without this stuff ?(besides Arbonne!) I cannot understand why these monster baby companies would use this stuff. Could someone recommend something safe so I can switch over today!

Hi, I'm a new member, but joined just so I could say thanks for the tip about coconut oil. I stumbled across this site by chance at the weekend, and went out Monday to my healthfood shop to see if they had any. Luckily they'd just started stocking virgin coconut oil. It was quite pricey at almost £10 for the tub, but I thought I'd give it a go. I've used it for two mornings now, and it's just lovely. Today I noticed that my previously 'sealed' bumps have started to 'open' and I've been able to just tweezer the contents out without squeezing and leaving angry red spots, or scabs.

I only have KP on my arms, quite a lot on the upper arms, and a little on the forearms (has started appearing there over the last year). I've always been so conscious, but I'm a real picker (should I say squeezer), and even say out loud to myself stop picking, but continue, until I have a mas of angry red bumps and scabs.

Anyway, I've cut off my nails, and am going to persevere with the coconut.
It's now 8.30pm and over 13 hours since I applied it this morning, and my arms are still shiny and smooth, without being greasy. Amazing!

Thanks for the fab tip!

Nutiva Question...

Is the oil you're all using the Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil in a white jar w/ a yellow and green label as shown in this link?

http://nutiva.com/catalog/product_in...cb4c56e8cfeb67

It seems the smallest size is the 15oz. That will probably last a long time though. Anyway, just want to make sure I get the right one...actually I'll just wait a few more weeks until my birthday and put this and the Neostrata product on my birthday gift list. I'm so tired (and poor) of spending money on products.

Hope these work as well as reported. Thanks...

Just popped up to bathroom to check. The one I bought is Coconoil. I googled it and it came up with their UK distributor ....

http://www.bamberwatson.co.uk/

I'm assuming it's the same kind of stuff that the Nutriva stuff is.

Flushed Face-
Thanks for the tips. I haven't got the coconut oil yet but as soon as I get paid I'll be well on my way. So, it seems that everyone who is using it is putting it on and letting it soak in for 10 minutes or so. Is it completely necessary to let it sit that long? I only ask this because I take my showers before work in the morning and I'm always in a hurry to get my son and myself ready. And you don't have to use any lotion at all? I'm so used to putting two different kinds of lotion on twice a day. Do you think it could be more beneficial to use the coconut oil as a lubricant for shaving than any soap?

Exclamation Baby Companies care more about their wallets than your baby!

The "monster baby companies" are banking on the fact that consumers will trust "a family company" and not ? their formulas (or ethics) . You see, mineral oil is something like $5/gallon, while the alternative, essential plant oils cost somewhere around $100/gallon . Why would they take a $ cut if nobody knows or cares? Well some of us do care, and we're spreading the word! Take it or leave it.
Did you know that Isreal outlawed the use of mineral oil in cosmetics (and toiletries) for kosher reasons 10 years ago, and has seen a 50% drop in their breast cancer rate over that decade? Amazing, isn't it?

Thanks Allison! Very informative and now a brand new research area for me. I appreciate your efforts to spread the word. I will do the same.

Krystalite, you absolutely do not need any additional lotion. This is more than enough. At the end of the day your skin will still be as soft! I have had such luck with shaving that I will never use anything else.

Also, I put it on in the shower, rub everything in, rinse gently and get out. I pat dry, very gently, and wash any excess of my hand with soap so I can touch my face. Then i hurry and get my other stuff done, while naked (sometimes 3 min. sometimes 10!) then I rub it in again (generally just on my legs where there seems to be excess) and then I throw my clothes on.

I also have little ones and am expecting again, so I understand how time is precious in the morning. From the time I get in the shower, to the time I am dressed, hair dry and makeup on, it has only been 30 minutes. I do not think that is too bad. Plus, you could always take a little extra time on the weekends if you wanted.

Good Luck and keep us posted once you get started.

***By the way- the Nutiva link you showed is exactly what I use and it will last a long time!

Flushed Face-
Thanks,
I will definately keep everyone posted. I hope it works better than my current routine atleast.

Allison Sullivan- Thanks for the tip on the mineral oil. I just don't know what to use for my baby now or myself. If you have any ideas please let me know. I also noticed all of my current lotions contain parabens!

I'm about to order it and I live in Canada.
On the area where I put my country, there is two choices, United States or Unites States.
This makes no sense to me!
Does it not ship to Canada?

Are you talking about Arbonne? We have shipping to canada. On the very first page before you login, at the top in the right hand corner, there is a drop-menu for US or Canada. Make sure you login for canada before you shop. THEN there should be a place when you checkout for Canada. email me if you're still having trouble...
