I had the most fantastic hair in a bump yesterday. The coconut oil has worked on about 80% of my bumps, but I still get a little spat of them occasionally (time of month I think). anyway, couldn't resist one yesterday and the hair that came out was hilarious - it looked like it had been permed .. and it came out with a satisfying pop as well.

I know, I'm a sicko !

Hey, I've tried the Virgin Coconut Oil for about 5 days. It has certainly reduced the bumps, so my arms feel smoother. However, they still can be seen. Any recommendations for getting rid of the visible dots?

By the way, talking about hair in a bump, sometimes I even get 2 hairs in 1 bump! (Is that common?) The "extra" one is loose and comes out easily.

Hey flo,

yes, i sometimes have the same thing in regards to your hair situation! *laughs* So i think it is common.

To all:
i've tried the coconut oil thing... for several weeks... and it helps, but just not enough to justify using and doing and scrubbing and slathering on all the time. I know... i make it sound like it's "such a routine!" but the truth is, i'm always in a hurry in the morning and the last thing i want to do it make my showering routine longer. It's tough enough for me getting myself and two kids ready in the morning...

But, i have recently started to cut back on nursing my 6 month old. Since then, i've noticed my kp getting A LOT better! i'm totally convinced that it's cause my body hasn't been taxed so heavily for nutrients. When i did remember to take my Vitamin A tablets every day, my kp automatically looked a lot better then too. Think about it, when i was a teenager and had kp, i didnt' eat that well... pizza was my main course. And the only other times i've really had a bad case of it was while i was nursing and not taking any vitamin suppliments. so make sure you guys are eating well! And good luck!

Flo-

That's so gross! *laughs!!* I do the same thing though. I can't be satisfied until I get the nasty buggers to pop.

I do too (that's why my before pics look like they do)! It's most satisfying when you hear that pressurized "pht!" noise. I've even had them so pressurized that they shoot the little plug from my thigh up and over my shoulder! Why is that? BTW - Yuck, I know...

Quick question? do most of you guys drink enough water?
I barely drink water...which is making me think that maybe i have KP because of that

Well, there's the layer of skin covering the plug. Then there's all that force from your fingers trying to push the plug through the skin. And then, all the force that's been building up suddenly breaks the skin and pushes the plug through the skin which thus sends it flying over your shoulder. haha....my hypothesis!

I know, I have way too much time on my hands to be thinking about these things.

Oh and I don't drink a lot of water either. Not the recommended daily amount of 8 glasses/day at least.

Has anyone tried to drink more water to get rid of their kp?

Now wait, could applying it before your shower and washing it off also be effective?

I drink an average of two litres a day and to tell you the truth, it doesnt affect KP but it helps my skin in general. I must admit, Ive gone back to using coconut oil (that was just for summer time previously hehehe) and Ive noticed its pretty much settled down immediately. Theres a pink tinge left, but that will be gone in a week or two cos i can finally start surfing again (its spring in Oz and really warm already woohoo!)

Allison- what is the big hoohaa about Arbonne? Ive read a few wild ones on the posts and saw that a few websites had differing opinions about it....

Smile Lotion + Coconut Oil?

Hi! I just started using Coconut oil today! It's a 100% pure, but it doesn't say "extra virgin" on it. =(

I slathered it on after taking a shower and then blot-dried my skin with a towel. 5 min later though, my skin felt dry...

To those of you who have had success using coconut oil, do you think following up with a moisturizer will hurt?
thanks!

Just use a moisturizer that does not contain petroleum products. I only use the extra-virgin coconut oil. My skin did feel dry the first few days of using it but that has abated.
