Soaking Salt Bath

Has anyone tried soaking salt baths? My KP always gets better when I go on vacation so I was wondering if the salt water had something to do with it so I did an internet search on salt water and found a lot of info on how salt water can be beneficial to the skin...

Yes, indeed, I have salt baths regularly. Even better are the warm salt pools in wellness centers. If you buy it for home treatment, use high-quality salt. There seems to be differences. In Germany, it`s Biomaris which is great, unfortunately I don`t know any good foreign brands.
Sugar beet molasses is great as well.

Yes, they do help! The baths have a slighter effect than the warm pools or the real sea...and low quality products only have a slight effect, too. But regular baths in high quality products improves kp a lot!

Interesting thanks do you tend to go to humid locations on holiday? Maybe it is not the water but the heat?
With the Salt baths (redsandy please) how long do you find the KP is controlled for? What do use on the skin after the bath. Mine will always clear when I am in a bath. In baths we also exfoliate naturally (lose dead skin)
How do you use the sugar beet molasses please?
Thanks

I live in Florida I dont goto the beach because is actually makes my skin redder and itchy but it is hot and humid alot down here so I dont think that the heat or humidness helps at all cuz I got KP pretty bad on my arms and legs. I am fair skinned and I dont know if that makes a difference.

KP is apparently common in Celtic descendants. I am going to try Bio Skin Care - Elicina Cream on my legs soon, I don't know if it is a big con or not, I remember seeing their website a while back & it looked fairly suspect but they have since revamped. I'll post if it works. (I'll have to order it & wait for it to arrive from America though)

Well, the effect of baths lasts for a few days, so I bathe about 2 times a week. Sometimes I apply baby oil with eucalytus essential oil afterwards, sometimes a normal lotion. Yes, climate helps as well, but I think it`s the salt. Just try the artificial official pools if you have some in your area. This effect lasts even longer.
I put 2 table spoons of sugar beet molasses into the bathtub and stay in the bath for about 20-30 minutes; it's good if the water is warm enough for you to start sweating - a process called "osmosis" is said to take place - an exchange of acids in your body for the minerals in the sugar b.m.; in addition, enzymes in the sugar beet are said to have a peeling effect; it is recommended for your feet as well. After that, I do not even need to lotion after the bath, you can just observe that your skin does not absolve the water anymore - a sign that it is moistured know. It works for me, but if your skin is used to much lotion, dryness may be a problem for you.
