Thanks for the feedback Leila!

I will make up some trial bases this weekend (light and rich butter), it will be interesting to see how they work out. I think it will be good to use the almond and coconut oils in the formulas, they have receved some positive comments lately.

My wife stopped using the regular cream for a while, but after reading about everyone's strong interest in this little 'project', she is very keen to start again!!

Hi all!

I am pleased to report that I have now successfully made the three base formulations: light lotion, regular cream and rich butter (sounds like a buffet...

None contain any mineral oil or vaseline, instead they contain avocado, sweet almond and coconut oils as the emollients.

They also do not contain any parabens preservatives or fragrance, to make them as mild as possible.

As soon as I receive the active ingredient from Europe (it will be dispatched next week), I can get busy and make some more "Koru kp", this time we will having the 3-varieties: lotion, cream and butter!

Smile Koru kp Cream is now available in large quantities!!

Hi there!

I am pleased to report that I have now received the key active ingredient from Switzerland, and I have just made up a large batch of Koru kp Cream!!

Koru kp Cream was designed specifically to treat my wife's own keratosis pilaris, and the range (lotion, cream and butter) contains no mineral oil, perfumes or parabens preservative.

It has a threefold action, to:
moisturise (sodium lactate and urea)
nourish (avocado, olive & coconut oils, vitamins A, C & E)
heal scars (purified botanical extract of Centella asiatica)

I would like to thank all of the kind people in this forum who have been so encouraging, and were willing to help us to develop this unique product!

Warm regards,

Annuu

P.S. This is available from my wife's home-based business, Koru Pharmaceuticals. We focus on women's health and are located in beautiful New Zealand. We are not a large corporation or a network marketing outfit!!

Wow, the response to Koru kp Cream has been phenomenal, in such a short period of time!

Thank you everyone, your help in the development of this product (that is specifically designed for kp) is greatly appreciated!

Thanks again,

Annuu

Some folks have kindly offered to post before and after photos of their kp, to show the effect of Koru kp Cream.

I will keep you posted on progress!

EBay & Trademe

Hey guys, I have ventured into EBay (a big place for a lil ol' country yokel like me...!) and posted Koru kp Lotion, Cream, Butter. Do a search for Keratosis Pilaris and you will find it!

Also, for the Kiwi guys here, should I list it on Trademe, and have a lower postage price considering that Trademe is for local NZ delivery?

Cheers matey potatey!

Thank you everyone out there for your enthusiasm for Koru kp! The response has been absolutely phenomenal!!

We have a couple of kind people who are taking before and after digital photos (and yes, I can assure you that they have kp!!), so that will be interesting to see the results!

This message is also for Lindsay, who placed an order for Koru kp Lotion just now...I have been trying to reply to your e-mail address, to no avail, but the good news is that your order is already on its way to you from sunny New Zealand!

Cheers

Here are some comments, just received, from users of Koru kp Cream:

"It's great that it has no strong odor and it goes on really smooth, unlike other urea-containing creams I've tried which feel "sticky" after."

"It has a nice texture and absorbs really fast without leaving any oiliness or residue. I agree with one of the posters from keratosispilaris.org that in the future, a pump would be a good idea"

In response to feedback, I will work on making a pump available!

Warm regards,

Annuu

Just to let you know that I am also working on a completely new concept for kp...using kiwi(fruit) extract.

This amazing fruit, which is grown in huge quantities here in New Zealand, contains an enzyme called actinidin, which behaves like the enzyme papain in papaya.

If it works as I hope it will, it should dissolve away those nasty ol' keratin plugs!!

I will try it out in a very mild, light cream base. I will keep you posted on progress.

Cheers

Annuu

Turns out that actinidin (the enzyme in kiwifruit that dissolves keratin) is very unstable at room temperature, so unfortunately it cannot be easily made into a usable treatment for kp. Sorry about that!

Papain (the enzyme in papaya/pawpaw) is more stable, but boy, does it sure pong! It smells like rotten, fishy, sweaty socks! Not my idea of something that you want to have wafting up from your arms!!

Toodle-oo
