Tattoo's on KP infected skin...

Does anyone on here have a tattoo on skin that has KP on it? I was wanting to get a tattoo on my right shoulder, but I'm not sure if my KP will mess with it?

Anyone with a tattoo please help!

Hey,
I got a tattoo on my right shoulder. My kp is worse on my triceps. There is some light kp on my shoulder. My tattoo is just four letters about one inch in size each. I've had a couple little clogged pours come up through them. I just let them fade with my normal scrubbing. The important thing is not to pick at them. It is tempting, but that could screw up the tattoo. I wouldn't get anything with a lot of color to fill in. Bottom line: My kp does not cause a problem with my little tattoo. I hope this helps.

do you have any back up choices of places to put a tattoo? I just think that after going thru all that pain, it'd really suck if you weren't happy with it, because of the KP's showing up in it.
I have a tattoo just above my bikini line --looks great with bikini's -- and no KP there! BUT!! it hurt like hell to get it there!

I have tattoos covering most of my arms, and only the white plug part of the bump shows through and it's really not noticable because my tattoos are quite colorful and intricate. I like that you can't see red anymore. You can't tell there's any bumps unless you feel them. However, when the tattoos were healing, I did pick at a few and the ink actually came out. So now one arm has a few small skin colored spots which will need to be touched up. I also let my arms dry out a bit and then scrubbed them the night before to get the skin smooth, I was worried the tattooist would avoid bumps, they avoid moles and freckles as not to irritate any area that could become cancerous.

Hubby's Tattoos and My Wanting One

My hubby, funny enough, also has KP, mostly on his upper arms, shoulders, and back. He has a half sleeve on one arm and the KP comes right though it. It usually looks like bumps or goose flesh, but occassionally a white head looking pimples come through. It's visable, but usually the ink hides much of it. One doctor told my hubby he might be allergic to the ink, but that's not possible. My hubby has others like one on his ankle that has no problems at all. Plus he had the tattoos long before the KP began to develop, which has only been in the last 5 years or so.

I want to get a tattoo, however the KP problem is delaying things. I'm embarrassed for the tattoo artist to see it plus I don't want to get a tattoo over my bumps. I'd like my skin to clear up some first.

I wouldn't worry what the tatttooist sees, they generally shave the area first so they deal with razor burn, pimples, scars, blood, etc. on a daily basis, including KP.
