Dear So Sad.... Benzoyl peroxide can be purchased at any drug store. I use Persa-Gel 10. Yes, using Benzoyl peroxide alone will dry out the skin and make KP worse. As I stated before, I alternate with treatments of salicylic acid and I always exfoliate in the shower with a glove and mild soap such as glycerin soap. This treatment works for me because the benzoyl peroxide and the salicylic acid open the pores and then the skin sheds when I use the glove to exfoliate in the shower. If you use too harsh of soap and don't exfoliate, your skin will dry and the KP will be worse. I have tried Dermadoctor's KP lotion, glycolic lotion, and Carmel. While these lotions may reduce a few of the bumps, the appearance of my skin is worse....redder and larger bumps. I have a smoother result with the peroxide, acid, and exfoliation. This is just what works for me. My posts aren't to start a debate...just wanted to share what works for me.

congratulations roy, you found a cheaper alternative to all those over the top priced lotions that supposedly promise to cure kp like kp duty. that lotion did nothing for my skin except clog the darn hair follicles. i guess people have different ways to unclog their follicles and each person is different. anyways, thanks for your input
