OMG woops sorry spelling error everyone yes i did mean mgs! most fish oil capsules are usually 1000 mg each, thats why 3000 mg isn't that much because it's only 3 capsules each day!

Wonderwoman haha thats such a cute name for a dog, please send us pictures
AYNAS: i have been on a really healthy diet for the past 2 years since i started studying naturopathy. However my kp has improved dramatically but it has not gone completely which is why i will start supplementing with these supplements when i get them today. I personally know that i am not absorbing all of the nutrients from my diet sufficiently because i have poor digestion which is something i am currently working on but by taking the supplements in higher doses then i know i will be receiving the right nutrients to fix this skin disorder.

Just something else that i wanted 2 say. I think it willl be safer for all of us if we supplemented with betacarotene instead of vitamin A. Of around 25 000 IU (15 mg) per day

LOL my kp favorites list is a mile long, literally.. anyway found this article and thought it would interest you!!

Abstract:

A study was undertaken to investigate the role of vitamin E in the aetiology of phrynoderma (follicular hyperkeratosis). Fifty-six children with the disease and twenty-one normal children were investigated for this purpose.

Plasma vitamin E levels (mean ± SE; mg/l) were found to be low in phrynoderma (3.7 ± 0.19) in contrast with normal children (6.6 ± 0.40) and therapy with a combination of vitamin E and B-complex brought about complete cure.

The increase in plasma vitamin E levels after the administration of vitamin E at a dose of 100 mg three times daily for 4 weeks was higher than that obtained when vitamin E at the same dose was administered together with vitamin B-complex for 4 weeks, suggesting an interaction between the two vitamins. Further studies are necessary to find out the exact nature of this interrelationship.

Wow awesome journal Anonymous! thanks heaps for sharing. See this is why it is important to supplement with all of the nutrients that i suggested because it may be a vitamin E deficiency for one person or vitamin A/ B deficiency/EFA/ or all of them! for someone else. Thanks im really excited to see if we have finally found a cure!

If you scroll down to Vitamin A there are a couple of pictures of follicular hyperkeratosis which does look like keratosis pilaris, but these are very extreme cases. my KP is really mild compared to those pictures.

Makes great sense

I have always suspected a link between vitamin deficiency and kp, though I thought it should be Vitamin B, C and D. Valuable correction, as I am writing an article on it.

But I also suspect a link between KP and sensitivity to androgen, which result in hirsutism ( excessive hair on face and body) in women. Do u have any clue establishing a link between hormonal imbalance and KP?

A second point is: why does the sun better our condition, if it is not vitamin D that is responsible ?

( I had started taking Multi-vitamins with anti-oxidants and royal jelly. That contains the 5000 IU of vitamin A. It is only a week, but my skin looks healthier)

Im not sure about the sensitivty to androgen thing, i personally have no hormonal imbalance i have pretty much no hair on me. and i still have kp. with the vitamin d connection i think its just the sun burning off the bumps. Because when you are in the sun i think it is like 15 minutes or something that is enough vitamin D to last u a lonnnnng time im not sure the length but it was something ridiculous, and i get enough vitamin D... i live in australia!! and i still have kp.

And the main cause of hirsutism is polycystic ovarian syndrome. A lot of women think there is a hormonal connection especially since a lot of ladies have their KP worsen n spread during their pregnancy. However instead, i think its because their need for vitamins and minerals increases dramatically because their baby needs the minerals and vitamins as well to develop and this is where it will go first not the mother.
