My dermatologist seems to feel that rosacea and kp are linked in some people - he says he has a lot of patients with kp and rosacea. Just curious if anyone else has both? I've lost 12 pounds recently and haven't noticed a big difference in my kp. I do know that cold weather makes mine worse and oddly enough - so does getting hot and sweaty.

Yes, I have TOTALLY experienced a difference with weight gain and weight loss! But I don't think it has everything to do with what we eat.....I think a healthy balance of diet and exercise is SOOOO essential. A lot of the skin products that we use, may help KP, but they can also be harmful to our bodies. EVERYONE!!!! CHECK THIS WEBSITE!!! www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep Enter in any product you use. Some won't be in the database, but you might be surprised at the toxicity and health concern in some everyday products you use!!

It feels like a lose-lose situation sometimes. Scrub too much, and it gets irritated and red. Scrub too little, and the bumps are out of control. Don't moisuturize, more bumps. Use the wrong moisturizer, more bumps. Don't tan, have red dots all over. Fake-n-bake and have wrinkles & bumps. Tan-in-a-bottle and have orange spots in addition to the red spots...

At least it was nice to discover I'm not the only frustrated KP sufferer out here!

I'm not sure if KP has anything to do with weight but...I have this friend, we look alike, our body structure is alike..we're both really really skinny and we both have KP... I find that kinda weird. :O Maybe I should try exercising...I don't really want to lose any weight though because I have a hard time gaining them... Right now I'm trying out the pumice methods, hoping I won't completely destroy my skin...

Darlians, you don't necessarily lose weight if you work out - if you do a balanced regimen, the weight-training will compensate by tacking on muscle to your frame!

As for the weight gain - more KP link, it's like every body said in fractured posts: if you're gaining weight, you're not living as healthy as you once were (exception: pregnant women). So it's a mix of nutrional lapses (lacking the right vitamins, not being hydrated enough, etc.) and thus not getting your body to help you out.

Furthermore, sweating does help; it only dries out the skin (and so amplifying KP's appearance) when not washed off promptly enough - if it dries on your skin without being replaced by more [ ex: go biking, get sweaty, stop to eat, once dry get going again] sweat dries out the skin, like saliva does to your lips if you lick them too much.

(I feel pompous. I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be a pain. O_o;;; )

I have a fairly good diet and I do cardio exercise occasionally (but every day I will take a 30 min brisk walk). I am not flabby or anything, on the lower side of the healthy weight range. Do you think going to a sauna could also be good?

Hello, I've had KP since I was 12, and I lost over 70lbs when I was 19 (currently 27) and the KP did not improve. I am a health nut (organic, tons of veggies/fruits, lean protein, workout 5x week) and it has never improved by diet & exercise in my case.

Try KP duty cream or laser hair removal, they have worked for me. (Decreased bumps and some of the redness).

I'm 17 and I weigh 95 lbs...my weight's been constant for years...so has my KP. I eat a lot of vegetables...but I think I'll try working out and taking some vitamin E supplement. I don't really have a lot of bumps anymore after using the pumice sponge...but the red dots are still there.
