Buying Lotion- Comments?
Hi All,
After reading the forum, I've narrowed down a few lotions which I would like to try. If you've tried any of these please comment. I read a forum member's comment on using lotions which are also used to treat eczema and skin problems, so I'm thinking of trying a simple lotion which replenishes/protects the skin barier (physiological lotions?), and is good for sensitive skin. I live in Singapore-hot humid weather so I hate wearing lotions that are sticky. Went to pharmacy yesterday and saw: 1) Eucerin for Sensitive Skin (no Redness relief range) 2) Physiogel 3) Dermaveen (with Oatmeal) 4) Cetaphil 5) A-Derma (from Pierre Fabre), with Rhealba Oats 6) Ego skin lotion They only had samples of Physiogel and Cetaphil, which were OK but I didn't really fancy the slight odd smell of Cetaphil. However, if it's shown efficacy, I'd buy it over smell/esthetics. Appreciate any feedback. Hugs Lene |

Can anyone comment??
I've been exfoliating int he past with so-so results. Havent been putting any lotion as I tried in the past and did not work-plus too stick for tropical weather. Am now trying to get back on to lotions. A few months ago a memeber posted about shea butter being the holy grail. I couldn't find pure shea butter and bought one from Body Shop-that didnt work for me and make my bumps redder as some bumps were somewhat sensitive.Plus it was as oily as hell. (Like swimming in an oil slick in the tropics) |

I have a REALLY difficult time with lotions as well. I keep reading that we are supposed to moisturize but my bumps seem to swell and get larger when I do with most lotions. Last week I was looking for a lotion posted on here and ran across a new Eucerine one. I have had good luck with their facial sunblock/lotion and besides that it states right on the tube that it smoothes bumps and roughness. Its extremely heavy and greasy. and is impossible to rub it in so its not sticky. I seriously think Bugs would stick to me if I had it on outside! When it is really inflamed I have used the Cetephil gentle skin cleanser applied, massaged it in and left it or blotting it off after a few min. It states on the label you can use it as a light moisturizer. My bumps do not seem to react well to ANYTHING smoothering them. (wish I could do just that!)

Thanks for your review! As for my dermaveen- lotion wit oatmeal and avena sativa (rice, i think).
It leaves a slightly white cast/residue and I find it a little bit sticky. So if you put it on your legs and when they brush together you get a bit of a drag. When I wash the lotion off the next morning, I dont really find my skin moisturised. perhaps it just calms the red spots a little bit. Oh, and recently I find my KP creeping up to my shoulders. ARRGH. It has been KP free for my whole life. *sigh* |
