pumice

I have pumiced my skin, that is all good, the bad part is the alcohol. The pumice I use is the same you use for your feet, or toilet

same thing with me. its been 6 days and my arms are still bright red, perhaps I took off the scabs too early. My arms are smoother but they're 10Xs as red as they were before and I think I have scarred myself in a few places

I am soooo glad to read someone else thinking the way I do. I have read constantly and been told by dermatologists that this is a dry skin condition, yet my skin all over my face and body is so nice and healthy and always has been. Just the back of my arms has KP. I've had it since i was 16 and am now 40. During this time when I was about 24 my KP went away completely for 3 years it was because every day I got a type of cotton pad and alcohol and went over my arms a few times each day. morning, then day, then night. and when I was done and the alcohol was still damp I quickly put on this cream called lotrisone. Had cortisone in it. KP went away in a short time, I never had to do it again for three years then it came back when I moved from the hot dry desert climate to Oregon where it rains a lot. The sun dries skin and it also clears up my KP very much. Salicylic acid dries skin and it works for some peoples KP. Retin A as you say dries skin. I have been doing a lot of thinking on this and alcohol works amazingly for me. I can get my KP cleared up quickly more by drying my arms out and then lotioning up with something that won't clog my pores. Mainly I am on here because my daughter has very sensitive skin so the alcohol burns it and I am always looking for something for her, and also to help others anyway I can.

I did, but you never answered the questions about whether or not it clears up the redness.

Hi Giggly, I quite like your approach it sounds better than the harsher recommendations on this thread, I am quite put off by the thought of scouring my skin, I can't help but think that this kind of scrub would be performed by Dermatologists under local anesthetic, therefore please can you let me know the brand of aha peel that you used I would prefer to try this. Thanks

I also wonder why The Pumicer has deleted their threads, it seems strange that they would remove their comments, almost as if they were back tracking, no offense intended. Is The Pumicer able to explain please?

I think he deleted his posts because people were not doing it properly and saying it's a harsh method and some were trying to blame him for it. Anyway, his method has helped me... He did not impose the method on anyone, he just wrote what helped him

Naw....the pumicer is just traveling.......he left a message like 2 weeks ago under the thread titled "a special message from the pumicer". I just copied it from that thread and pasted it below for you guys who missed it.

"Hey everyone. I'm going to be going traveling and I've decided to be completely free of technology while I'm gone. No cell phones, no computers, no nothin'... I really want to simplify things in my life as much as possible.

I erased all my messages in the "pumice & alcohol" thread. I just can not have that in the back of my mind while I'm gone. I really do care very much about people's outcomes with this technique. However, when I get a message that it hasn't worked for someone, I feel too bad about it. I just want to have a very spiritual trip and I don't want anything in the back of my mind. I hope you all understand.

I think by now, this has helped a lot of people. I can't believe how popular the thread became. If someone else is seeing great results from this method, I hope they will pass it on to others.

I understand some of you may wonder why I felt it necessary for me to erase my messages. The plain and simple reason is I am just not comfortable with giving advice when I am not an expert. If I can't be here to answer questions, I don't want my messages up.

I'll be leaving in a week, and I'll be on the forums until then.

Cheers everyone,

The Pumicer"

Update

Hi. I tried the Pumicer's method nine days ago and wanted to report on my progress. I've had amazing results! On my right arm, 90% of the KP is gone...on my left arm (my worse arm to begin with), 80% is gone.

I've used someone else's idea on this forum too. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of who posted it. I did the original Pumicer method for the first seven days. For the past two days, I've done a light pumice scrub (just for a few seconds to get off any scabs), alcohol and then hydrocortisone cream right after the alcohol wipe (I do this at night before bed).

Today, I bought the Eucerin Redness Relief creme....strange looking at the green cream. Anyway, I think it definitely hides some of the redness. Today is the first time in YEARS that I didn't think my arms looked half bad. Don't get me wrong...I can still tell the KP was there....but I'm not so sure that many other people would.

Some may think that the Pumicer method is too harsh....but I thank you SO much Pumicer for posting this. I had tried everything else with no success.
