"The Pumicer"...or anyone having success with this method - can you please post what brand pumice stone you are using or maybe where you purchased it. My pumice stone is some-what smooth and I've scrubbed but never got any scabs or anything...just got red...my skin definitely feels smoother after doing it but I don't think I'm getting the same results from the pumice stone as you described. I bought another pumice stone meant for the feet but it's rectangular and has really sharp edges and the stone comes apart and leaves little granular pieces all over so I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me what type of pumice stone they are using.
Thanks... |

New Here
Hi. I've been reading these posts for a few weeks. Like almost everyone else here, I've had KP for years. I went to the dermatologist in Dec. and she told me it was pretty much a lost cause. She gave me a script for LAC Lotion...which was useless....as she had pretty much warned me. I've done the loofah and scrubs, etc.
So, I read about The Pumicer's method and decided today to give it a try. Right now.....I'm in pain....like sunburn pain. I'm not sure that I got each and every KP bump...but I'll keep you all posted on my progress. Thanks Pumicer for sharing your method! BB |

Am I doing something wrong? I scrubbed at my skin (arms) and put some alcohol on. A few days later, I have what looks like s****es on my arms. Afew of the kp bumps are scabbing but now it just looks worse -- bumps and s****es. Perhaps I should have done a more "targeted" pumice job instead of just scrubbing all over.

Do you have just s****es across your arms like you fell off your bike? Then you have done a generalized pumice on your arms rather than concentrating on your KP because you want to have ended up with red dots all over your arms rather than an entire arm that looks s**** across the pavement. Do you get what I mean? When I looked at my arms the next day I was able to see each little KP head red and scabed. Either way even if you think you did not do the pumice part effectively or correctly do not do anything more! Put some lotion that will help scarring (nothing oil based though) and use a calming natural toner and wait for your arm to COMPLETELY heal. See what happens and if or how much your KP improves then I suggest if you want to you restart the method.
Thanks to the Pumicer for his post. I don't want to act like I am a know it all but I do want people to experiance the same results since summer is approaching and we are all living with KP however my posts are not to encourage people to take drastic action. I believe the pumice method is not as harsh as it sounds if done correctly, if you want it to be effective be patient please. I ask this of those tryin the pumice method because I don't want anyone getting injured or scarred and unhappy. I am sure the Pumicer feels the same. With that said, I will report my progress. Just last night I did my second wet pumice (in the shower) and reapplied alcohol. Since it does not hurt as bad I really used alot of it on a cotton swab and I realized the skin flakes came off with the cotton (it was no longer white, all dark and nasty). Then I used some resurfacing lotion (this is something I got for my acne scars on face not hard to find) and this morning my arm was soo smooth and scabe free, even my bf complimented me. I am not sure what I will do now. I am going to use some tanning lotion (the kind I mentioned in my previous post) because I have no bumps on my skin. However I might put this off since this is adding more excess to the skin. I think I will just keep using alcohol or hydrogen peroxide and really strip the KP layer off my skin. Btw when the bumps dissappear you can REALLY see where your KP is it lies ontop of your skin and underneath and around it there is your naturally smooth clean skin. Almost there! Let's keep sharing people this is so much better than spending money on useless and hopeless products. ****If you think you are using the wrong pumice stone look in the aisle where the hand and foot care stuff is at the supermarkets (like revlon nail clippers, cuticle removers, etc.) they should have a strong pumice stone there meant for your feet which is what I used. |

SMILEY 26........
I told you where I bought my pumice stone in my previous post but I reread your msg and I just wanted to tell you and anyone else interested that if your pumice stone is coming off (in granular pieces as you described it) then go buy it at another location. It is either not a good quality or is a very old stone (I've bought similiar ones for my feet before and they are so useless, the one I used on my arms did not break and come off so I guess that's why it works). Also I wanted to mention that when pumicing the second time, *** only when your scabes are ready that is***, then you might want to use some kind of facewash (nothinly oily more like a gel or slightly creamy) with the pumice. Put it directly on the stone and go circular in motion this will do a good job of taking the scabes off without further abrasion to your skin. But this method might not be a good idea for the first scrub because it may not be effective in penetrating the KP buds. Also if you are getting just an arm full of starches then please don't forget to use lots of water when scrubing with the pumice (this is why the in shower method is best). |

Am I the only one that feels this way of "dealing with kp" is a little harsh? I equate it to binge drinking where that is abuse of the liver, this is abuse of your skin. Your skin is the largest organ in your body why would you want to treat it so harshly?

Why no one is forcing anyone to try this method, or any other lotions and potions discussed on this bulletin. They are all equally harsh and dangerous because this is a public bulletin and not a professional clinical website. I hope everyone is aware of that before taking any advice posted here.
However I hope we can all keep an open mind and not be judgemental because KP is something we all have to deal with, and though the doctors say its a benign it is still part of our lives. Your comment alarms me because how you feel is not the message I want to be sending out to others (I repeat the wrong way is to pumice your skin harshly, this may not even get you results except bruised skin, the right way however I have already explained). I am one of the most health conscious people that I know of atleast - I exercise and eat extremely healthly and I hardly drink, I have not eaten anything besides fish and chicken for several years now, and I have never in any 'abused' my body so it makes me sad that my enthusiam over a method that has worked for me which I wanted to share with other, has made some ppl offended. |

update (for anyone who cares to know..) - the arms are getting smoother, they've dried and peeled almost completely, theyre just really red now, which i can deal with. i might get yelled at for this, but im using soul owner on them, even though im not sure if its too soon, but its working. the stuff burns like a mofo but i think its actually helping. THANKS, pumicer.
ps. what do i do after this? i mean, when its pretty much healed - do i pumice again? yeahhh im really looking forward to that part... |

Great post Mia! I love how detailed you are with your experience. Many thanks to the Pumicer as well for sharing his experience. Quick question Mia, you mentioned a resurfacing lotion for your acne scars. If you don't mind, what brand did you use and was it effective? Thanks!

sounds like it. thanks for letting me know. i'd like to try the pumice method though and i wouldn't hold anyone responsible for how it affects my skin. (how silly is that anyway?!?!) would you mind telling me exactly what you use? the only pumice i'm familiar with is the stones i use to get the ring outta the toilet. and thanks again for your reply!!

Mia, I'm sure you are the optime of health, that is, in your own opinion. Everyone here has an opinion, thats why its a forum.
I still feel there is a better more gentler way and I'm determined to find it. ![]() |
