Smile Some Good Results

Hi there. This is my first time posting here but wanted to share that I have gotten very good - and very quick results for my KP using a combo prescription from my dermatologist. She gave me a prescription for Umecta (Urea) cream as well as for Cutivate cream. I put the Umecta on my arms first and let it dry - then apply the Cutivate cream over that. The first night I noticed a major difference and have continued to use this combo with good success. However, if I miss a few days, my KP starts to come back. Also, the Umecta and Cutivate are fairly expensive. But, I am very impressed with the results personally. Hope this info is useful to someone else as well.

Josba - yes. These are made in the US. One is by GlaxoSmithKline (Cutivate) and the Umecta is made by JSJ Pharmaceuticals. I do believe there are generics available for these two products.

I continue to have FABULOUS results with this combo. My skin is smoother than it's been in years - no bumps, redness, etc. However, if I skip two days, the bumps start to come back so I am trying to be diligent and use them every day.

Hope this info helps!

Is this combo for the body or will it work on the face too?

Cutivate and Umecta Combo - Great results!

Hi there. I don't see why you couldn't use both creams on your face - HOWEVER, I'd check with your dermatologist regarding that first. Both prescription creams seem very mild. I got up again this morning and am still marveling at the incredible results I have seen. I have smooth arms and can actually wear sleeveless tops! I wouldn't have dared to bare my arms before this treatment. It seems very gentle. The Umecta cream is a white cream in a tube - and has little odor and goes on very smoothly. The Cutivate is a thinner lotion in a little bottle with a very slight but pleasant smell.

I am thrilled to have found this combo.

Good Luck (Again, check with your dermatologist first when you discuss this combo with them - and see if it can be used on the face)

Umecta & Cutivate

Hi,

I just read your info on Umecta and Cuitvate. My daughter has KP and we recently went to a dermatologist who prescribed her umecta & cutivate. She has been using it for about one month now twice per day. The cutivate we were told to use 2 weeks and then take a break from it the two weeks then resume again. Is this how you were instructed to use the cutivate? After the first 2 week treatment of cutivate we thought it looked a lot less red, but the 2 weeks off cutivate it seemed to be the same way before we started. I just don't feel like we are getting results or maybe we are being impatient. Just curious as to how your KP is now. My daughetr has it on her arms. Thanks.
