I have read just about every thread on this site. I have designed a hybrid of all of the techniques that "supposedly" will rid me of this embarassment called KP. I am going to try the following regimen to see if I notice a difference:
1. Vitamins A (in moderation), E and C 2. Microdermabrasion 3. Pumice Sponge with Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash (with 2% Sac. Acid) 4. BBW Euclyptus Spearamint Lotion I pray that is works. I update the thread every few days with my progress. Wish me luck, Gang!!! |

Ok, I read a warning on the microdermabrasion kit that bans any additional exfoliation while using the kit. I don't want to use the pumice sponge in conjunction with the kit. I may wake up one morning with no skin...LOL! Can anyone shed some light on what I should do?

All has been working great, so far. I do not use microdermabrasion, nor do I need to. The pumice sponge w/the body wash, with the BBW lotion after is working wonders. I am also looking to intergrate a weekly oil/s****e bath along with Soul Owner lotion.
I will keep you all posted. |

I actually use a the microdermabrasion kit that Mary Kay sells. I love it! It really makes the skin on my face soft and smooth. I only have to use it about once a week or once every other week. It just depends on whether my skin is acting up or not. I had to use it more often when I first started using the microdermabrasion kit.
I haven't found anything that takes out all of the redness, but I have found that just learning about and taking better care of my skin and improved it quite a bit. I think that it was most improtant for me to accept my skin. As my skin changes, I have used different products. Currently, I am dancing around the idea of using a different cleanser in the winter and summer. For the rest of my body, I use Satin Hands and Body Buffing Cream also by Mary Kay. It's wonderful! I only use it twice a week and it doesn't leave a mess in the bottom of the shower and there is no residue left on my skin. The product isn't too expensive either at about $10 a bottle and a bottle lasts me a couple of months. I follow with a moisturizing bar of soap. Although, Olay has a body wash out that doesn't have any detergents in it that is also wonderful because it doesn't dry out the skin at all. I follow my shower with the Visibly Fit Body Lotion by Mary Kay. It soaks right into the skin, leaves no residue, and has no scent. The regimen works well for me and my Mary Kay consultant is a great help. Turns out she is very familiar with treating these kinds of problems. I guess the most important thing is finding out what works for you. |

Yes, it works very well. I have only been using my new regimen for 5 days now, and my skin is noticibly smoother. The dark spots are still there, but once all of my bumps are gone, I am going to try taning to even my skin coloring.

No, I haven't. Is that what you use? Who makes a good anti blemish spray?

I would avoid using an anti-blemish spray. Those kinds of things often have alcohols in them and other substances that dry out the skin. That can actually aggrivate the KP and it can cause your skin to break out. One of the major problems with KP is that the skin is dry, so you don't want to make it worse. Unless you find an anti-blemish spray that won't dry out the skin.

Yes, tanning makes my KP appear non-existent. The dark spots completely fade away.
