Uh, help? Please?

Well, I'm not entirely sure where to put this because I have questions about Keratosis Pilaris, Rubra Faceii and some other issues regarding skin in general, so I hope this is the best place.

As I've mentioned in my only other post, I've been able to smooth out my skin to the point where its moist and bump-free but no matter how much I keep it up I still have the red coloring. I figure that if I keep doing what I was I could keep my bumps away for good, but I've been slacking just because I was upset about the redness left behind. for Christmas I got two skin medications form the same series. Murad. I searched the forums but most of my results were about the acne product. I used it for about a week and I could start to notice a VERY slight removal of the redness. however, during this time my skin dried out like it never had before. I mean my skin starts to flake with out the addition Murad gives it. So is it worth it? Plus I figure if I use this on my arms and legs it will counter act what I've been doing to help the bumps and dryness, so then I'll be less red but still have bumps.

Tanning has been mentioned in the forums too and as there were many results I couldn't take the time to search through for my problem and a few posts in I figured it wouldn't be there. I have skin discoloration around my eyes, no bags, its just a lot darker like a tan almost. My dermatologist said it was genetic and that there was nothing I could do about it. But since it is a tan color I was wondering would tanning neutralize it? I'm like sickly pale partially due to the fact that my mom used to tan like a fiend and her skin now is pretty terrible. So I've always avoided the sun like the plague. But if I can neutralize the color I would get over it because the darkness it just horrible. Also, fake tanners irritate my skin for some reason... I've tried a few and it didn't work plus I've have to put it on my face to solve this and I really don't want to break out since I do break out so easily. And I figure those mystic tans would have the same effect plus I just don't like the idea of that. So basically if I were to tan I'd end up doing it on my deck. So what I'm asking is, will tanning help to neutralize the darkness? And just to make sure on those posts I read through about tanning... it does mask redness somewhat, right?

Is it normal for someone with KP to have really brittle nails? Because I know keratin is what makes up your nails so I just thought that was a bit odd. Also involving nails and other things... I've been meaning to try biotin for hair growth since I need to even out my length since the last haircut I got was an A-line so its all wonky now. But I also read that biotin has something to do with keratin. I can't remember now but I figure that would be bad, right? Then I thought that I could use a shampoo with biotin but I know biotin helps with nail growth too, so I'd kill two birds with one stone if I were to take the pill form. So is biotin safe for me?

And another general skin question and I'm done. My pores are typically small on the rest of my face except my nose, I think I have whats called a "strawberry nose." but my dermatologist gave me some acne medication for when I break out and partially because I think at the time I went in I had a zit on my nose that was literally the size or a wart so I don't think he could refuse me acne medication... SO. My dermatologist never said anything about the medication shrinking pores, actually I was being retarded and forgot to mention it, but I've found that the pore size shrinks dramatically when I use it on my nose. However, this stuff dries my skin out almost as bad as Murad does. Is there anything I can do to help it not dry out while still using it? Because this has helped my skin a lot. Also, I'm really paranoid about using acne products or anything else like that that isn't prescription. Its just a habit I have. The medicine is called Fougera, its clindamycin phosphate lotion. Prescription only.

Thanks in advance guys, any sorry if some of my questions were horrible obvious or are dead horses.

P.S.: This is totally retarded and off topic, I probably can't get an answer here but... My black cat has super bad dandruff. I read that washing him would help. But. Last time I tried washing him I seriously wound up with 8 puncture wounds and a five inch long scar. So that’s not an option. could I like... mist him or something? Yeah, it was worth a shot to ask.
P.S.S.: I use the word 'so' too much.
P.S.S.S.: Man all these veiws and no comments? Ch.

I could answer about the nails. They grow really fast but I've never had brittle nails. They're actually quite pretty, really. =)
