Re: Vitamin A, C, deficiency confirmed

vitamin A deficency is so extremly rare in modern world, it only happens to people in 3rd world countries.

if u think u have vitamin A defincency get a blood test to check and if it comes back normal and u still believe u have it, good luck! because its the only way to check for it.

if u had viatamin A deficeny, u would have many more major sypmtoms other than KP!

google that!

Re: Vitamin A, C, deficiency confirmed

I played guinea pig too, becuase I too beleived I had vitamin A deficency, and thought I will just buy some vitamin A supplements and take em to solve my KP.
also if u google it u will see that Vitamin A deficency is rare in a modern world, and the link to KP is only a theory and not proven, just like allergies are a theory link to KP.

read my guinea pig experiment:
KPRF and vitamin A deficiency blood test.

Re: Vitamin A, C, deficiency confirmed

i understand what your saying jason. i dont think that you necessarily have to have ever symptom of vitamin A deficiency to have it. maybe our bodies have a problem absorbing vitamins for what ever reason, and the vitamins that we do get our used for the most important functions of our body. it would make sense that our bodies choose to use vitamin A for vision rather than smooth skin if theres only so much available.
also scientist don't fully understand how our bodies use vitamin A, alot is still a mystery .

Re: Vitamin A, C, deficiency confirmed

Deficiency of vitamin A is very rare in the United States, unless confounding malabsorption conditions such as steatorrhea, or diseases of the liver, pancreas, or gallbladder are present. In contrast vitamin A deficiency is prominent in young children (<5 years old) living in third world countries (6,11). At birth many neonates experience low plasma vitamin A content, but the levels are corrected with a diet sufficient in vitamin A (6). Symptoms of vitamin A deficiency include metaplasia (changing of normal tissue into abnormal tissue), poor growth, xerophthalmia (dry corneas), and keratinization of epithelial cells resulting in a loss of differentiation (6,11). If vitamin A deficiency has not been chronic leading to permanent debilitation the symptoms can often be reversed through supplementation.

kera·tin·i·zation
To produce keratin or become like keratin.
v.tr. To convert (something) into keratin.

epithelium is a tissue composed of layers of cells that line the cavities and surfaces of structures throughout the body. It is also the type of tissue of which many glands are formed. Epithelium lines both the outside (skin) and the inside cavities and lumen of bodies. The outermost layer of our skin is composed of dead stratified squamous, keratinized epithelial cells.

cellular differentiation is the process by which a less specialized cell becomes a more specialized cell type. Differentiation occurs numerous times during the development of a multicellular organism as the organism changes from a single zygote to a complex system of tissues and cell types. Differentiation is a common process in adults as well: adult stem cells divide and create fully-differentiated daughter cells during tissue repair and during normal cell turnover. Cell differentiation causes its size, shape, polarity, metabolic activity, and responsiveness to signals to change dramatically. These changes are largely due to highly-controlled modifications in gene expression. With a few exceptions, cellular differentiation almost never involves a change in the DNA sequence itself. Thus, different cells can have very different physical characteristics despite having the same genome.

and keratinization of epithelial cells resulting in a loss of differentiation

what i think this translates into is

a deficiency of vitamin A can result in an over production of keratin in your pores which can result in skin cells changing into other cells.
