Hi! I'm new to this. I've (like many of you) been told that this KP was normal. Many of my friends have little spots of KP, mainly on the upper arms. I waitress on weekends and some coworkers too. We started calling it "the waitress disease." My husband also has a small patch. Could it be contagious? I also suffer from very sensitive underarm breakouts. My nails look awful, rigid and thick. I've searched about nail fungus and nail diseases but didn't find a close photo to compare. I'm sure this could have something to do with a vitamin defiency like some of you have described. Anyway, after reading about keratosis pilaris on the internet I knew I had found a name. Since I started scrubbing with a Wal-mart brand apricot scrub with a loofah. I asked my local pharmacist about the urea cream and it is only available by prescription. I did'nt give up and I looked through all of the lotions and hair removal creams until I found the only thing with salicylic acid in it otc. That is Bikini Zone. I exfoliate in my normal shower for about 25 sec. each arm with the apricot scrub and then apply the bikini zone. It instantly removes the redness but the bumps and dark spots have remained. Looks better. I still am making an appt. with a dermatologist asap. After finding this site I am relieved at some of the stories and scared by others. Much thanks to any who responds!![]() |

yes I have reason to believe it is contagious. Don't have time to post it until saturday, it'l take a long time. I also think I know why people have little "patches" and why this bikini stuff takes away the redness. Too bad us guys can't get this bikini stuff without losing whatever dignity we have left

I had read about the demodox. That was the post that scared me. Could this be linked to most skin and hair problems? What kind of sulfur or soaps are there? I live in a small town. Only one health store.

I was looking for your reasons about the bikini zone taking away the redness? I've been reading about lidocaine. That is the active ingredient. Has anyone else tried this? |
