My hands are peeling... 30 Percent SA must be potent
The 30 percent Salicylic Acid formula I made out of SA and Propylene Glycol are making my hands peel like crazy and I didn't get much of it on my hands. I applied it to a loofah and applied the formula to my KP areas. The KP areas aren't peeling yet though. I applied the formula a few days ago. Hopefully the KP areas will start peeling away soon and revealing smooth, non KP skin.... Next time I guess I should wear gloves even though I hardly got any on my hands.

Been applying this stuff to my upper arms and legs for about a week and a half with no peeling or any improvement, yet it makes my palms peel when I get a little bit on them. I can also feel a little bit of a burn, so it must be doing something. Strange...

Just be careful and watch out for signs of salicylate toxicity (SA poisoning); it's apparently fairly serious stuff...
Symptoms of salicylic acid poisoning:
This info came from http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/d...di/202516.html. The link has good information about SA %s to use, side effects, contraindications, etc. Also check out http://www.emedicine.com/EMERG/topic514.htm; it's got a lot of scientific jargon, but look at the morbidity rates and physical effects for people with SA poisoning, it's really scary! Just want to make sure everyone's safe when using large %s SA... |

In my experience you need to exfoliate right before applying the SA solution, otherwise it will not do anything. I've made some lotions with stuff from the personal formulator..
If I apply it without exfoliating it does not appear to be doing anything. If i exfoliate first (I always exfoliate in the shower), then apply it, it strings a slight bit.. I let it on for like 5 mins then rinse it off, and you can see skin peeling right away, and more so the next day. I just started this so I can't talk about results yet other than peeling skin.. I'm not using that lotion I made every day otherwise I guess it would just burn me more than anything. I use it every 3-4 days.. in between I use off the shelves lotions which have a bit of SA. Never had results before without the peeling lotion I made myself though. Will see how that goes. That said, we should try and come up with an effective solution. I bought all sorts of stuff from them.. SA, Glycolic acid, Lactic acid, Urea, Green Tea extract, everyday cream, everyday lotion, etc. Leaves room for alot of experimentation. |

30% is incredibly strong. I've only seen it come in 2%
