I have the same problem, too.
I have KP everywhere too. I have one brother and two sisters. My elder sister has also KP everywhere. But my brother and my younger sister do not have any skin problem. So it is very likely that one or two of your children will have KP if you have KP, it is unfortunately inevitable. That's to say, KP is dominant.
