My story in short - noticed bumps etc when I was a teenager.. thighs only. Spread very slowly - in fact, didnt think about it until about a year after I moved to the cold EU - no sun & dry. That was about 6 years ago. Now in my mid 30´s my legs are absolutely covered - no where else though. I´ve tried almost everything, thinking they were just ingrown hairs.. I´ve usully tried things only on one thigh so I could compare if any of the torturous methods were working...

from picking them open continuously
shaving & various methods of hair removal
"anti-bump" shaving lotion for men
loofah/scrub
moisturiser
sandpaper (in moments of desperation! haha)

I gave that all up a year ago - outside of basic body lotion. Now that I know it isnt my hair!

I have noticed some things though - when I lived in (or visit for long periods) a humid/tropical sunny environment, the bumps recede considerably.

The environment I´m in now (cold/dry) and the bumps return with a vengence!

I recall in my 20´s that my mom also had these bumps on her legs - but when I saw her last, she had been living in that tropical environment for 15 years and her legs were smooth as silk. I think the environment & age played a role there.

Anyway, now that I know this is a real condition, and not just ingrown hairs, I´m going to start a new plan of attack.

I´m bringing back the scrub, will look for te nutrium body wash by Dove - and will find some retinol product as its beenr ecommended by many, and went so far as to move from my large airy bedroom into a smaller room fitted with a humidifier. I have also purchased a "face tanner" (thought about a full body one, popular up here, but I´m brown skinned already) - the face tanner I´m going to focus on parts of my legs.
