Product that makes KP better
Hi everyone! I had posted about 4-5 months ago telling everyone how apricot scrub cleared up my KP. Well, I just wanted to do a follow up.
The apricot scrub (medicated) smoothed the bumps on my arms, which really improved the appearance of my kp. However, like many of you, the scrub was not doing anything about the red spots. I went to see a doctor to get a prescription for Tretinoin cream (0.025%) for my face. Well, I decided to stick with benzoyl peroxide. So, I decided to try the cream on my KP because I've read some success stories with this product. Okay, everyone ready ![]() Although my KP has not cleared completely, there are many patches on my arms with no KP at all!! I noticed the patches about a month of using the product. I know tretinoin cream is expensive (My insurance covers most of the cost, however). I've found it on different websites for 40-50$, and I would really suggest giving it a try. I have not read many posts on this message board and maybe others have posted on it, but I just wanted to let everyone know what is currently working for me. In April I am going to L.A. to see David Gilmour in concert and I can't wait! I am going to wear a bikini and I wont be embarrased about my arms! Yay! Thanks for reading Bye |

Is that cream a steroid? Because my Derm said that Steriod creams can not be used long-term they can permanently damage your skin.

Tretinoin is not a steroid, it's a vitamin A derivative. It has a good safety profile but should not be used by pregnant women as it may affect the development of the fetus.

This is also the only thing that has really helped, along with the use of a good moisturiser because my skin is dry and sensitive...
I stop using it for a few days when my skin becomes itchy and make sure I moisturise well after applying the retin A gel. Claire. |

I was treated with Retin A as a child with KP and had very bad results. I issue caution to anyone who wants to try it
