KP on Face - Please Help!
So, I am a newbie, and I have had KP my whole life. It is the worst on my face (cheeks), but I also have it on the back of my arms, back of thighs, and buttocks.
I actually never knew what it was that caused this, until about a year ago - I always thought it was acne until I went to a dermotologist. I am getting married in September and have been experimenting with different treatments so hopefully I can get in under control for the big day I bought AmLactin at Drugstore.com and started using it yesterday, even on my face. This was a HUGE mistake!!! My face is now terribly red, bumpy/scaly & itchy (10 times worse than usual)! Can anyone recommend any lotions or treatments for my face that are gentle, yet effective? I have been using Philosophy Purity cleanser and Hope in a Jar moisturizer - they don't irritate my skin, but don't help the KP either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! |

Cetaphil products are very gentle, try a search on Cetaphil.

Try using Lifeline Vitamin A-D Cream. This is a non-greasy cream sold at the pharmacy. It takes the red out of my kp the second I put it on. The redness comes back after a while, but my KP has improved significantly, and I think it is due to this cream!

I started using Proactiv on my face about a year ago for acne (it worked wonders, by the way), and it also happened to really clear up the KP. I didn't have it too bad on my face, but now I haven't got it there at all. It is not, however, gentle. I have very sensitive skin so I was worried about using something so harsh, but other than some serious drying, I haven't had problems. Just be sure to use an oil free moisturizer as well.
I've also had strange results with AmLactin. I'm using it on my arms and legs and it has turned rough bumps into rough whitheads, which isn't really an improvement. |

I use Cetaphil and I think it's great.
