Be very careful about Salicylic Acid !!!

I heard that Salicylic Acid used by Food Companies in biscuits, cola, fruit juice etc. causes cancer. I am not sure whether the SA used by them and the SA we are mentioning about are the same. But be very careful about the Salicylic Acid and the amount that you use. KP is not worse than skin cancer.

It has been known for a long time that chronic irritants can cause cancer. I am not sure what kind of cancer you read about with the foods or where you read that information.

You need to understand that foods are affecting the mucous membrane. A topical agent or cream affects the skin. Those are two different organs. The mucous membrane is living tissue. The top layer of the skin (horny layer) that you are burning off with SA is dead.

So I wouldn't jump to a conclusion that SA on the skin is going to cause cancer. I would worry more about the sun exposure and even more, clothing rubbing on a mole. Since the mole is considered a type of pre cancer.

Your skin takes a tremendous amount of abuse with chaffing, scratching, pressure, contusions. SA can be a milder irritant that those I just mentioned.

Toxicity

I have read on several sites that prolonged use of SA over large areas of the body can be toxic and that it is only recommended for small areas, i.e., face, not full body treatment.
