I know this question may sound somewhat silly ... but is bathing bad for people with KP? I had heard from somewhere that people who have KP should not take bath's only showers. Any truth to this ?

I have been told by a derm not to take hot showers because it dries the skin out and causes the KP to look worse.

I've heard this, too. I think it's maybe because when you have a bath, you are laying in still water for an extended period of time, and depending on how dirty the water gets or how much bath oil etc you use, it could make your pores and follicles clog a lot faster and a lot easier (which would not help kp!!!). While with showers you are just rinsing everything off.

I think that with either one, so long as you keep your skin clean and moisturized, you should be okay.

It does to a certain extent, especially with hard water.

I've purchased a shower filter and an organic alternative to soap. It helps a little, but it's still drying me out.
