make your own salicylic acid peel??

I was thinking it might get cheeper to make a peeling cream yourself. Does anyone have any experience? I would like to have a mild enough peel to use everyday, and would work well. It does cost a small fortune to buy heaps of small bottles of peeling creams.. So is it possible to make your own sal. acid peel??
