Question Glytone

Has anyone ever tried Glytone? I was at my doctor's office last week and noticed a brochure on a new treatment for KP called Glyone exfoliating body wash and Glytone body lotion. The brochure was from Genesis Pharmaceuticals, so I'm sure they are the manufacturer. Anyways, my insurance won't cover lac hydrin anymore, which seemed to help, so I wanted to try this. Any feedback you can give me would be wonderful!

I'd recommend searching the archives for Glytone; there have been several posts about it. I like it & use it as a part of my routine. It is fairly expensive, but effective in small doses. best price I've found is at dermstore.com. the kit comes with a lotion and body scrub.

I've used the Glytone Keratosis Pilaris kit and I did see some improvement. The body wash made my skin feel very soft. Just be careful not to scrub too hard in the shower because the Glytone body lotion will sting if you do. It seemed to work better for the KP on my arms than it did on my legs. If you search around on the web you can find a good deal - I think it cost me about $30 when I ordered it.

I have posted regarding this subject before, but wanted to share my results again. I have been using the Glytone body wash with a Buff Puff for two months now. I started with Amlactin afterwards because my derm said that the Glytone lotion would be too strong for my inflamed KP. I now have been using the Glytone for around a month and the results keep getting better. My arms are much, much smoother and less red. There is still a few bumps, but mainy scars from too much sun and picking. It is my hope that these will continue to fade with time. I should tell you that I alternate the body wash with Clinique's Sparkle Skin Body Scrub (in the jar). I think this has a big impact on the regimen, it really exfoliates without scratching the delicate skin. Remember when using AHA products to use sunscreen, because skin is extra sensitive.

Lightbulb KP Kit

I just ordered the Glytone Keratosis Pilaris Kit from dermstore.com. We will see -- I am optimistic. I have had KP on my upper arms (front and back) since my teenage years. I am a 30-year-old white male.

I have tried Lac Hydrin and Am Lactin along with exfoliation with no results. I have also tried the sulfur soap, which seemed to create more tiny bumps. Plus, I couldn't stand the smell, so I threw it out. Also Pernox -- same deal. No results.

A side note -- does anyone else find this LaserNurse person to be a bit less than credible? All his/her posts seem sort of "sales" oriented. Or maybe it's just me.

Angry

You don't have the guts to talk directly to me. Where is my sales money?
I was giving my knowledge and experience just as others were. I get nothing for spending my time here on this web site.

I see all kinds of suggestions from others. And people ask for help. Is this just a complaint and misery loves company website or is it for sharing what works?

Truthfully. I think you want someone to pitty you with your having a skin disorder that is not curable. And you have a "poor me" attitude that real good products or solutions are expensive.

You have an easy life if this is your biggest issue.

Do some research. I have! I can handle a challenge. I love to learn. And I love to teach. Then make an intelligent debate.

When a person finds success do you often shut them down with negative comments? Is the cup half empty? Have you ever had anything in life that you are excited about? Ever have a great discovery? Ever create something?

So from now on just skip over my posts!

yeah..i think that's a little unfair to LaserNurse. You have the right to ur own accusations of others but if u're not certain of it..you shouldnt speak out like that because if it is false, ur going to hurt someoen that's just trying to help...

Ouch

I just questioned LaserNurse's credibility, which I am within my rights to do. When someone repeatedly mentions a brand name like Obagi -- a very expensive line of COSMETICS -- and says he is a "brilliant man" and things of this nature, I become a bit skeptical. I will, in the future, skip over LaserNurse's posts, and any of you may skip over my posts if you wish. It is, after all, a free country.

REALLY lame attempt to lighten the mood

Wow! recent posts making the board almost as exciting to follow as the California recall election!
seems like regardless of what we try, our KP, like Ahh-nold, keeps sayin' "I'LL BE BACK!!"
(wince, note disclaimer in title)
