Has anyone tried DERMAdoctor KP Duty ? It all sounds great, but like a lot of other pessimistic KP sufferers who have flushed good money down the toilet on treatment after treatment and still have the unsightly mess on my body, just thought i'd ask if anyone had any success or is this just another waste of time?!!!!

Been there, done that, took it back to Sephora to get my money back. It was nice and thick and probably a super moisturizer, but didn't do much for me. In fact, the first week I used it I broke out in a horrible allergic-type of rash all over my arms. I waited until it went away and used it again for awhile - no luck. I say try it, but make sure you can return it if it doesn't work!!! (Sephora has a good return policy)

I used KP Duty and it worked wonders. I never liked to wear short sleeves because my arms looked gross. A nurse friend recommended it to me and I loved it. You only have to use it once a day and it makes your skin so much smoother. It's been the only thing that has worked. I've had KP since I can remember and now in my 20's I finally have clear skin on my arms. It's great. It may not work for everyone but just try it and return it if you hate it.

Re: DERMAdoctor KP Duty ????
Kreon,
We have learned from reading postings about successful products that what works for one person won't necessarily work for someone else. But you never know if you don't try it. Thank you for sharing this with us. If you feel like it, would you please post this same info on "Thread Devoted to What Works for You" and/or "Commercial Products That Have Worked". These threads help others read all the success stories all in one place. Thank you, kebod Last edited by kebod; 10-28-2008 at 04:49 PM. |

Re: DERMAdoctor KP Duty ????
I have used KP Duty - both the scrub and the moisturizer. It definitely made it smoother but you have to keep on using it. Results for me showed at 4 weeks. I also have "freckles" around the back of the arms so it's hard to see true "clear" improvement but I least the gross small pimples things that you can squeeze are gone. I stopped using it for a week because I was vacationing and tried to substitute with my Cetaphil lotion - didn't work. My next step is to try a chemical peel on my arms from a dermatologist.

Re: DERMAdoctor KP Duty ????
I've used KP Duty Scrub for the past ~ 6 months, I just finished the container and bought a new one. I have KP on my upper arms. It definitely works in preventing new bumps from arising, but the old scars and discoloration are still present. It takes a while though before you notice a difference.
I started off treating my KP with Neutrogena Body wash and a poof mesh sponge, and then started using the KP Duty Scrub with a poof sponge at first but just my finger tips every day and occasionally I'll used the poof sponge. After I get out of the shower I put on Lubriderm For Normal to Dry Skin. I haven't had new bumps in months. The only problem now is that the scars/discoloration from previous bumps are still there and I can't seem to get rid of them, but at least my arms don't feel all bumpy which really really bothered me. I've also tried the KP duty moisturizer, and that makes your arms feel smooth too but I didnt feel that it was necessary and I didnt think it absorbed well. The Lubriderm lotion works fine. |

Re: DERMAdoctor KP Duty ????
Hello. i am thinking of trying KP Duty mousturiser, but im a little confused. does KP Duty get rid of KP or does it just reduce it/prevent more from developing? Or is it different for different people?

Re: DERMAdoctor KP Duty ????
I didn't feel that the KP Duty moisturizer was worth the price of what it did, maybe it works for some and its worth it, but for the price and what it did, it wasnt worth it for me. I do like the KP Duty Scrub though. It has prevented new KP from forming for me and gotten rid of the bumps that I did have.
I also just started to add Carmol 20 to my KP and have noticed a difference in just one week, it makes skin softer. After showering and using the KP Scrub and neutrogena body wash, I use Carmol 20 on my arms and then put Lubriderm on top of that. If I use the Carmol 20 alone, I notice my arms looking a bit "ashy" looking and as the carmol 20 soaks in my fingers felt gritty. So that's my current regime.. Sound tedious but its not, and the change didnt happen overnight. 1. Neutrogena Acne/Body Wash and poof mesh sponge (poof is a must i think): exfoliate, prevent any breakouts (even though I don't break out at all) 2. KP Duty Scrub: exfoliate, get rid of any KP that might be present, and prevent new KP from forming 3. Carmol 20: has Urea in it to soften skin, help prevent plug ups/KP...(* have only used it for a week or so, so will see if it makes a drastic improvement in the long run... it cost ~$9.00/ 3oz. at CVS, had to special order it (it is over the counter though), but it arrived the next day! ) 4. Lubriderm: keep skin moisturized. As for skin/bump scar discoloration from previous KP, I'm thinking of starting hydroquinone 2% with SPF over the counter for a while, or at least through the winter. If it doesn't work, I'll probably go to the dermatologist and ask for 4% or see if anything else is better for it. |
