pregnancy and kp

Does kp get worse for nearly everyone with kp after pregnancy or it depends?

Do the areas where you get kp from pregnancy usually go away with time??

Could it be nursing related?

has anyone noticed that it gets better once they stopped nursing???

Thank you so much, really. Your advice and guidance means so mcuh to me.

KP and pregnancy

I've always had KP on my upper arms. When I got pregnant it went mad, it migrated down onto my fore arms, then my tummy and legs.

It gradually got better after the birth. I don't think nursing affected it, as I nursed for 9 months and my KP improved before then.

It is now pretty much back to where it was before I got pregnant.

I have just joined this site in the 40th week of my pregnancy because my keratosis is the worst it's ever been. The primary problem that I've noticed is that the amount of red stippling between the bumps has really increased. This seems to be part of a broader problem, that any kind of mark I get on my skin (razor bumps, mosquito bites) seems to be much darker and stays red for longer than before I was pregnant. I must admit to occasionally picking the keratosis when I'm feeling anxious/stressed which of course, makes it worse. But the marks that are left are so much more noticeable than before (which adds to the anxiety/stress) arghhh!! I am basically just wearing long sleeved tops so that I won't look at it or be tempted to touch it, and have recently invested in some Eucerin cream which I hear is good. Haven't tried the salicylic acid creams yet but that may be the next thing I try if the Eucerin doesn't help. Would appreciate any product recommendations if anyone has any. I think the same hormones that allow your skin to stretch to accomodate the baby may also may your skin more friable and sensitive, prone to scarring etc.. I guess like anything, it helps not to worry about the things that are out of your control, so I'm trying not to let this be a bigger deal than it needs to be. Glad to find this forum all the same!
