Question V. glad to have found you guys... Sulphur soap anyone?

Hi! I'm new here! I couldn't believe my luck when on the off chance of finding out how to get rid of what my doctor had told me was dry skin (KP!) I should actually find out that this was a specific condition and that it affected so many people! I googled a rather vague 'red bumps' and ended up finding this site. I don't think KP is recognised much in the UK. Anyone else find this?

On the advise of some of the sites I found I have started using Sulphur Soap, but really need advise on how to cope with the smell! I've only been using it for a week or so (and haven't seen any improvement) but even though I try to cover the smell in scented body lotion, it keeps on wafting it's way through, especially in the heat of summer! I'm sure other people can smell it! Any tips? Also, I have heard that Suphur Soap does nothing for the redness. Has anyone else found this to be the case, and if so, what did they do about it?

Also, has anyone noticed that their KP is better when their skin is warm? Like when you get out of bed in the morning?

Thanks for your help! And good luck with whatever solutions you are all trying!

Tru a good glycolic lotion which helps to slough off the top layers of skin and decreased all redness for me. I use Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion (10% glycolic) or DDF Intensive Cream 18% Glycolic (discontinued :0 So I get it on ebay)

I don't find the smell that offensive. What I have found is that if I use ANY moisturizer - and believe me, I have spent thousand$ - it will not work. Especially a good smelling moiturizer! What does work is the sulfer soap and loofah - and that's it and my KP has never looked better, been smaller, or been this un-noticeable! Use perfume if you can't stand the smell. I use this stuff for babies by Medela that is called "skin freshener". Good luck!

I'm glad you told me that, or I would probably have given up with the soap! Thanks for the advice!
