Hi all. New to board, KP sufferer too!

Hey,
I am so happy to have found this board I've had KP for years and it's getting worse... especially on my legs. It's embarassing, depressing, and I would give anything to find something that works. I'll tell you a bit about my KP and what I've tried...
First off, despite what my doctor says should work, my KP gets heaps worse with exfoliation. I have been using Retin-A cream for almost a year and it has slightly improved the KP on my arms but done NOTHING for the KP on my legs. No more retin-a for me. I am about to try a sal. acid and lactic acid mix my doctor prescribed, but don't have high hopes!! My main concern is not the bumps (my KP are mainly flat) but with the redness and purpleness which I really want to get rid of. Anyone with similar KP or has any suggestions on what to try, I would really really appreciate it

Hey, welcome to the board!

A lot of people on here have recommended Eucerin Redness Relief. I haven't tried it myself cuz I can't get it here in Canada but if you can get it, it might be worth trying. I haven't found anything that really helps with my redness, i definitely know how you feel. I have the bumps but the redness really bothers me, especially on my face. I can't really think off the top of my head of anything else that people have recommended for redness but search the forum and read some posts, there's lots of information and suggestions here. Good luck!

i don't know..i think these dermatologists need to make up their mind. A couple dermatologists told me to rub vigorously with a rough loofa, while others seem to think it will only make it worse. well anyways, i don't think it's making mine worse!

Totally! It doesn't make sense. Something else I tried that I forgot to add was Urea cream and I really want to stress how damaging this was to my skin. It burned like hell, and worse, made my KP at least twice as bad It spread overnight (!!) and became inflamed and for the first time people REALLY began to notice

Hi everyone, i noticed lots of little white bumps on my left arm about a year ago and stupidly picked them. They have been red and noticeable ever since and i have a fair bit of scarring too. i absolutley hate the way my arm looks, i am so aware of it and have spent most of the summer trying to cover it up. I've promised my mum to stop touching it as it looks so awful & i'm going to try moisturising the skin as often as i can. Does it ever go away?
