After reading Denise's post about supplements that might help, I went to Whole Foods and bought a calcium/magnesium complex supplement. After just one week, I already see and feel a DRASTIC difference!
![]() I don't think "pharmaceutical grade" is necessary, though it may be a personal preference. I also take a prenatal vitamin, which would count as a multivitamin. I had previously been trying a glycolic wash and lotion, along with coconut oil, with very limited success. I've also tried to reduce my sugar intake and increase my water consumption. With spring here, I'm anxious to see if the calcium/magnesium does the trick for good! |

Re: How I conquered Keratosis Pilaris
Denise thank you for posting. (not sure if you still read this considering your post is 5 years old, but thank you) I have the same issues that you were facing. I got KP right after the birth of my son. I have it on my arms and checks too. It has been really frustrating because my face is the part that has really been affected. I have tried so many creams, cleansers, and meds with no luck, they just seem to irritate my KP. I recently found out that I am allergic to wheat and dairy and have eliminated those foods from my diet. My KP did improve but I still have some patches on my face, and a little still on my arms. After reading your post my hopes where lifted again. I think that there might be something to this whole calcium idea. Unfortunately I love sweets, coffee, and g-free/c-free treats. So I am going to try and eliminate/cut down on sugar, coffee and bad carbs. I am going out today to get some cal/mags and see if this does the trick. I do take an Rx Prenatal vitamin at night along with fish oil and it is funny because my face always looks great when I wake up but gets worse through out the day. So hopefully having calcium in the morning too will help. I will let you know of my progress. =)
