Quite a few people here have reported that they have gotten rid of their Keratosis Pilaris by eliminating certain food groups from their diet including: eggs, dairy, wheat products, sugar. Realistically speaking, something has to give that our bodies are producing an excessive amount of Keratin for some unknown reason.

I am trying to completely ween myself out of sugar, wheat, and dairy products to see if I have success. I am on a diet and those products have way too many carbs anyway. Its really hard and I've tried doing it several times before, but with no success as I am addicted to those products. Lately, I've realized that I don't try it and stick to the program, I'll never know if that's what it takes to have perfect clear and smooth skin.

For a period of one month I will not consume those products. I have also stopped drinking coffee and replaced it with green tea. Caffeine dehydrates your skin. And I'm taking a teaspoon of Cod Liver oil (fishy oily stuff), but people here have reported wonders with it.

Will post results.

Looking forward to your results! I am also a dairy addict, but if eliminating it means some freedom from KP, the loss will be worth it!
Also- doesn't the fish oil come in tablet form?

There is much to be said about cutting out dairy. It's just really difficult because it's so yummy. I've also found some success in flax seed oil. I take 3 tablespoons a day. It's really bad tasting, but it helps if you plug your nose. =) There was a week when I didn't take flax seed oil and my bumps became bumpier again. I've resumed taking it and await further results.

Good luck.

Suggestion

If you think flax seed oil tastes bad, then I suggest grinding up flax seed. The current price of flax seed grinders on Amazon is 9.99 http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...445736-5773426 . Flax seeds are guaranteed by nature to last while keeping all the beneficial components intact, unlike Flax seed oil which may become rancid and lose some of it's beneficial properties. Ground flax seeds are said to have a pleasant nutty taste, unlike the flax seed oil. (Although I don't have any personal experience with flax seed oil, but I've heard it's not very pleasant). If you want to follow up on flax seeds, then i suggest taking a look at the following website. http://davedraper.com/forum/showflat...0/Number/29670 It has basically all you need to know about flax seed, and is where I've gotten most of the information I used in this post from. Cheers

Brian

Smile kp and diet

I have had this condition since childhood. I will admit that it had "cleared" somewhat with age. I am now 38. I have type II diabetes. Ever since I began watching my diet eliminating or limiting dairy and carbs - my kp had cleared somewhat. I also began to use Dove gentle exfoliating soap. This for me has proven to most cost effective than those otc and prescribed lotions by doctors. Unfortunatley my boys have inherited this and I do watch their diet and they also use the dove soap and thier condition has also cleared. I would really appreciate recommendations of any other products. I will try anything at least once.
