HI everyone.
I too suffer from KP. I basiclly have no self-esteem because of it. I feel like everyone is looking at my arms... God forbid I even try to wear shorts. It even ruined my last relationship because of my lack of confidence in myself. It's so stressfull trying to hide it all the time.
Anyway, has anyone tried Maderma for the scaring? I've notice that scaring is a big problem of mine. Thanks, Kristy |

Hi!I was going to try Mederma after I used the Oxy to fade the red dots. The Oxy did work and faded them to a freckle color. I first used Sulfer Soap and scrubed my legs w/ a stiff brush (been doing this for a yr.) and that took my bumps away and after I was left w/ red dots. Since using the Oxy I thought about trying the Mederma but never did. For the past month I have been tanning and I am really happy w/ the results, I was hoping that everything would blend in the tan and it did. If you do try the Mederma please keep us posted on the results you have. Thanks, Kim

i bought a tube of mederma for my arms. i saw absolutely no difference after a tube. i would put it on 1 to 3 times a day. i also have a 2" scar on my lower arm from a fall i took and would put the mederma there (as a control group to see if the product worked on another scar) and saw no difference there.
if my memory serves me correctly, the main ingredient is beet juice. does anyone know what that does for scars? i personally would not recommend mederma 'cuz if it is supposed to work, then i'm figuring you must have to use an AWFUL lot of the stuff. and wasn't it a little pricey too? |

not re: KP scars, but bigger one
I have @ 5 inch scar on my abdomin after surgery. My buddies who are physical therapist recommended Rescue Remedy cream, explaining that its what Beverly Hills plastic surgeons tell their patients to use on surgical scars (silly, I know). It's a homeopathic product made up of all natural ingredients (like flower parts, etc). My buddies explained about "scar tissue massage", which is done by gently rubbing the scar, then, as the scar heals, massaging more firmly. It serves to break up the scar tissue (on the outside & the inside), so that your scar isn't lumpy on the outside, and doesn't look "pulled." also supposed to help you retain flexibility in the area (i.e. for me, I guess I wouln't feel my skin pull if I wanted to do the twist??!!) anyway, I followed their directions to a "t" and my scar looks great!!! it's smooth and white, and hardly noticeable. just fyi.

We were told to do the same thing to my daughter's head. She fell into a wall corner ( where two corners meet). She got 10 stitches and the hospital doctor did not want to do it because it's directly down the center of her forhead. They wanted us to wait for the Plastic Surgeon and so glad we did. We had to massage it a few times a day for 5 or 10 min. each time. We did not use a cream and if we had we were told to use the Mederma. Well anyway the scar looks great, a thin white line and you really can't see it. I think it had lots to do w/ the Plastic Surgeon, he trimmed, sewed and reconnected the nerves inside first and then sewed the outside.

I think it is a little pricey, but is anything really too pricey when the KP causes so much low slef-esteem. I think I'd be willing to try everything. I just ordered my first bar of sulfur soap yesterday. From what I've read, it is the thing that people are seeing the most result with. I hope it works. With the depression of losing my boyfriend the KP isn't helping the matter. And I think all the stress is making it worse. Do you guys agree stress makes your KP worse?
I was also reading the old MB and I read a post about a person using a foot scrub, has anyone tried that? I order that foot scrub off of Sephora.com. Kristy |

I remember that post about the foot scub and no I have not tried it but I would. I hope you have luck w/ the Soap. Are you going to use a stiff brush? I use the brush on my legs and it did take time to get used to but now after a year I can't go w/out it, it's almost as if I don't feel clean unless I scrub. So I still use the soap and brush and could not do w/out it. This soap has made the biggest difference w/ my KP and I have tried so many thing and spent so much money. Good Luck! Kim

It's on the backs of my arms and it's not bad there.Yes I have srubed there but it seems that the KP on my arms is much thicker then whats on my legs. So it's harder to get rid of the bumps. Really whats on my arms does not bother me, not yet anyway! Kim
